Our team is developing an innovative medical device that employs advanced ultrasound technology to monitor cerebral blood flow at the patient’s bedside in neurocritical care settings. As we accelerate product development, we want to give our software a more modern and appealing look by transitioning to a cleaner, widely-supported graphical interface.

The goal of this internship is to develop a prototype with a new graphical interface for our medical device. This will include:

• Understanding the architecture of our current C++ software

• Decoupling frontend and backend component

• Implementing a new GUI using a modern library, potentially in another language (e.g., Dart with Flutter)

• Creating associated tests for both backend and frontend

Most development work will be done in C++ and with the new UI framework.

We look for:

• MSc, Master, or Engineering Degree student specialized in software engineering or a related field

• Basic proficiency in C++

• Familiarity with software development methodologies (Git, CI/CD, etc)

• Understanding of software architecture principles

• Genuine interest in UI/UX and building intuitive interfaces

• Curiosity about medical device development and regulated environments (IEC 62304)
