Over 500 life-saving drugs used every day were born from the microbial world. And yet, 97% of this natural pharmacopoeia remains hidden, waiting to be discovered. At Generare, we believe these unexplored molecules hold the answers to diseases that still resist modern medicine.

We are building the only industrial-scale platform capable of uncovering this microbial treasure trove on a global scale. Our mission? To transform millions of years of nature’s trial-and-error into concrete therapeutic solutions for human and animal health, as well as the agriculture of tomorrow.

In 2025, our patented technology, combining synthetic biology and computational biology, has already led to the identification of over 200 new molecules derived from microbes, four times faster than the rest of the world combined.

💹 Fundraising

Generare raised €5 million in seed funding in 2024, backed by top European deeptech investors (Teampact Ventures, VIVES Partners, Galion.exe) and national innovation programs. The company is also a French Tech 2030 laureate, strengthening its positioning among high-potential biotech/techbio ventures.

🧬 Founders

Generare was founded by Guillaume Vandenesch (AgroParisTech engineer, former director at Possible Future, early architect of Hello Tomorrow) and Dr. Vincent Libis (PharmD/PhD, Rockefeller-trained synthetic biology researcher, INSERM Research Scientist). Their combined backgrounds in deeptech innovation, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship underpin the company’s scientific and strategic direction.

Our team includes scientists, engineers, and strategists from diverse international backgrounds, with expertise in microbiology, molecular biology, genomics, fermentation, analytical chemistry, bioinformatics, data science, operations, and strategic development. This multidisciplinary expertise supports the scaling of our high-throughput natural molecule discovery platform.

Generare is based at the Pépinière Paris Biotech Santé within Hôpital Cochin (Paris 14), where our R&D laboratories, data operations, and strategic functions are co-located. This location offers direct access to a vibrant ecosystem of academic research, clinical expertise, and techbio startups. For roles that allow it, hybrid work is possible, providing flexibility while maintaining strong in-person collaboration across teams.
