L'avis de Welcome
As one of the leading video game companies in the US, Bungie’s former titles have included bestselling game franchises such as Halo and Destiny, marking it as a next-gen studio that is keeping its finger on the next-gen games console pulse. Bungie scaled up in the early noughties thanks to an acquisition by Microsoft, leading to a period where Bungie made games for a variety of consoles. In 2022, it was bought by Sony for $3.6 billion, though it claims that it will still work across different platforms despite its owner’s lean towards PlayStation. Indeed, Sony claims to have bought Bungie for its help in entering the live service games market. In return, Bungie will benefit by scaling up its team for new game and DLC releases. This is a promising direction, although it is worth noting that the underperformance of Destiny 2 has cast a few worries on the nature of Bungie's independent future.
