The Mission

The User Experience & UI Infrastructure group at Algolia is building a practice and platform that activates product and revenue opportunities, sets a high bar for product quality through design, and ensures that the customer’s needs are portrayed in every product conversation.

The Opportunity

As part of the team, you will be responsible for leading the Algolia Design System, working closely with engineers and designers to develop solutions that allow each contributor at Algolia to do their best work and ship high quality customer experiences.

The Dashboard Platform team leads the development of Algolia’s Design System and the end to end consistency of the product experience. They empower product teams to own their user experience whilst still leveraging our shared best practices, tooling, and guidance. The Algolia Design System gives designers and developers guidance and support that allow them to build modern, accessible UIs that delight customers and consistently scale over time.


  • Designing and shipping high-quality user interfaces, components, and patterns in a systematic, detail-oriented way, ensuring implementation is consistent with designs.
  • Leading design for the Algolia Design System, understanding the needs of stakeholders across the company, whilst advocating for high quality, accessible design standards.
  • Owning the UX priorities for the Platform group, ruthlessly prioritizing teams needs whilst understanding the context of the wider business goals.
  • Creating clear, concise documentation to align expectations, goals, and guidelines among cross-functional teams.
  • Leading work around consistency across the company's product experiences, such as global navigation used across teams.
  • Providing pattern and accessibility expertise to other designers, and helping the team grow through your experience.
  • Collaborating frequently with UX, Engineering, Brand, and Product to ensure a cohesive design language across the entire customer experience.
  • Constantly seeking and providing design feedback on the team's work.
  • Providing guidance and support to developers and product teams across the business.
  • This role will also support teams that don’t have a dedicated team member, such as the Billing and Account Management teams.


  • 7+ years product design experience.
  • Experience shipping quality design patterns and systems in a high growth environment.
  • Proficient in maintaining component and style libraries in Figma.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of visual design, typography, color, and hierarchy.
  • We expect you to be able to work and communicate across the organization at all levels.
  • Experience leading cross-team/org-wide initiatives.
  • You must have experience deeply collaborating with product and engineering teams.
  • Strong communicator of design work and your rationale behind proposals.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills required.
