About the Platform Team
You will join the Platform team, a vital part of our Engineering department, dedicated to providing a robust and innovative digital platform that empowers ManoMano to sustain and accelerate its business. With around 15 talented platform engineers, including Software engineers, SRE, and DRE specialists, you will collaborate closely with three managers and the Head of Platform. The team's mission is to ensure that providing business value is as easy as wanting to, fostering a culture of support and creativity.

Your Role
As a Software Platform Engineer, you will contribute significantly to enhancing user experience for both internal and external stakeholders by developing essential platform components. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain core components to enhance user experiences for both internal and external users. 

• Utilize your expertise in Java/Kotlin, while remaining open to other languages like Golang, Python, or TypeScript for diverse platform projects.Implement deployment and industrialization tools to ensure reliable web application performance while closely monitoring application evolution. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platforms reflect user needs, adhering to our product philosophy driven by data and user feedback. 

• Advocate for and support a 'platform-as-a-product' perspective within the tech department

Skills We Seek

Soft Skills:

• Be Bold, Ingenious & Careful.

• Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of curiosity and initiative.

• Experience in project management and mentoring within a collaborative environment.

• Ability to promote platform-as-a-product and analyze problematic areas within the tech department.

Hard Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development.
• Proficient in Java/Kotlin, and open to program with other languages such as TypeScript, Go, and Python.
• Familiarity with API and Microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of DevOps tools, AWS (public cloud), and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Kubernetes and GitLab, as well as observability tools (e.g., DataDog).
• Knowledge of automation tools like Terraform and CI processes.
• Understanding of quality and testing best practices.

Others:

• Degree from an engineering school or equivalent.

• Fluent in English (verbal and written); French and Spanish are a plus.

• Solid understanding of operational technologies.
