Created in 2013, Lydia quickly became the reference for payment between friends. The French fintech has gained great notoriety for this feature and now has more than 7 million users. In recent years, Lydia has developed other services - pot, current account, common account, savings, credit, investment... to become the daily and complete payment application for millions of French people.

With 250 employees based in Paris, Nantes, Bordeaux and Lyon, Lydia has set itself the task of changing the codes of the bank by offering all the essential services to manage your money on a daily basis through a simple, accessible and enjoyable customer experience.

What you will do:

  • Management, negotiation and drafting of contracts for all aspects of Lydia’s activity: strategic partnerships agreements, supplier’s agreements, terms and conditions ;
  • Ensure that all our products are properly framed from a legal point of view, especially regarding our regulatory obligations (must have : banking & financial regulation);
  • Provide legal guidance and develop solutions to product development and expansion ;
  • Work closely with all the other stakeholders (in particular product teams, marketing teams, customer care, compliance) in order to become a business partner ;
  • Build processes with other teams (creating templates, providing guidelines, reports etc.) in order to facilitate legal compliance within Lydia ;
  • work closely with the junior legal counsel and head of legal on legal and/or regulatory issues.
  • You are in the right place if:

  • You have more than 5 years PQE as in-house legal counsel
  • You have at least 5 years of experience a financial and regulated environment (fintech or bank experience required) ;
  • You have a strong knowledge banking and financial regulations ;
  • You adopt a pragmatic approach and act as a true business partner ;
  • You are resourceful, thrives in a fast-paced and metrics-driven environment ; 
  • You are a hard worker ans have a very good team spirit.
