Jonathan holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of London during which he researched oncogenes related to DNA damage repair. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford which was again related to DNA repair. In 2000 he moved to France where he held R&D management positions in a number of biotech companies undertaking early stage drug development. In 2009 he co-founded L2D and has helped drive the growth of the company over the last thirteen years. He is one of L2D’s directors and is also responsible for all business development activities.
After schooling in Algeria, Leila took a brave decision to leave her home country and undertake her undergraduate training at UCL, London and her Ph.D. in Cambridge (UK). She then held post-doctoral positions in Lausanne (Switzerland) and Strasbourg (France) before joining L2D in 2015. She has gained significant experience in developing both therapeutic products and medical devices and is now a senior project manager & team leader, leading a team of five. Every day still brings new insight and challenges.
After gaining an M.Pharm. degree from the University of Nottingham, Davei worked for ten years as a clinical pharmacist in the UK, mostly within the field of oncology. He then decided to try a new challenge and a change of environment. In late 2020, Davei moved to Paris and joined L2D as a project manager supporting the growth of their clinical development operations whilst also working on non-clinical and drug production projects. The move to France has been a great opportunity to broaden his horizons, both professionally and culturally, and enjoy the many advantages living in Paris brings.
Following his doctoral studies in Ireland, where he worked on developing novel formulations for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, Hugh continued to hone his drug development skills with a post-doc in the US focused on developing a new class of therapeutics for use in oncology and obesity. Hugh joined L2D as a project manager in the summer of 2020 and has since been involved in the writing of regulatory dossiers and overseeing operational aspects of both biologic and small molecule therapeutics.
Joelle acquired a background in biology in Lebanon, before specialising in cellular biology during her Ph.D which she did in Paris. She then directly joined the L2D team as a project manager in 2021 where she is involved in development programmes of both small molecules and biologics. She is using the skills that she acquired during her doctoral studies such as time management, critical thinking and problem solving in L2D’s everyday tasks. Working at L2D has been a great opportunity for her to acquire knowledge about the drug development world.
