We are currently seeking a Project Environmental Engineer reporting directly to the Head of HSE to join our HSE Management team based in Paris Nanterre La Defense, France.

Job Purpose:
As a Project Environmental Engineer supporting projects from the Home Office phase, you will collaborate closely with Project HSE Managers to establish and maintain effective environmental management systems aligned with local legal requirements, client standards, T.EN standards, international standards, and ISO regulations. Your role involves ensuring timely environmental monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, while maintaining strong communication with on-site teams to support project environmental performance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement the Environmental Management System (EMS) for projects during the Home Office phase, including organizing workshops such as ENVID.
- Contribute to defining and monitoring project-specific environmental objectives and KPIs, ensuring they align with project goals and standards.
- Support the integration of environmental considerations into project processes by engaging with Process Owners, including supplier and subcontractor selection and environmental workshops.
- Support and coordinate environmental monitoring and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with local authority and client requirements, with timely submission to the Paris Operating Center (POC).
- Analyze environmental data to guarantee quality, reliability, and achievement of objectives; recommend corrective actions and continuous improvement measures.
- Assist on-site teams with investigations of environmental incidents, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Participate in environmental audits, follow up on audit findings, and contribute to the implementation of action plans to treat identified gaps.
- Contribute to regulatory watch activities to identify applicable environmental requirements and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory environmental obligations.
- Gather and share best practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches to enhance project environmental performance across the organization.
- Liaise regularly with site Environmental managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Lead and support environmental communication initiatives (e.g., Environmental Day, Bulletins) to foster a strong environmental culture during project’s Home Office phase.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, HSE, or related field with a focus on environmental sciences.
- Experience in industrial or energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and familiarity with CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) requirements. Knowledge of ISO 50001 is a plus.
- Experience in developing and implementing environmental management systems and monitoring programs.
- Good understanding of environmental design aspects such as water treatment, waste management, and emissions control.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to influence and support multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and technicians.
- Proactive approach to environmental stewardship and continuous improvement.
Desirable Attributes:
- Strong motivation for energy transition, circular economy, and biodiversity initiatives.
- Experience in conducting or participating in environmental audits and assessments.
- Basic understanding of process safety and HSE Design considerations with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical experts in these areas.
