Your role

At Side, we believe a great product is the result of thorough discovery and pragmatic prioritization. Today, we enter a scale-up phase where the growth of the product management team is strategic to achieve high impact upcoming projects.

As the Lead Product Manager, your mission is to make sure that the Product Management team identifies, prioritizes and tackles the right issues at the right time. As the team lead, you will guide other PMs through the discovery process both in terms of quality and pace, in line with our long term vision. You will lead the way to building quarterly product roadmaps based on OKRs and advocate for the user experience and product vision within the company. You will also play an integral part in growing the Product Management team and drive PMs to deliver high quality discovery and outputs.

What your first 6 months will look like

1. Within 2 months

Onboarding phase

  • Discover the Siders mobile app, Team platform and Back Office main flows
  • Meet with temp workers, clients and teammates in order to understand users’ stakes and why we built our product the way we did
  • Learn all about the Product and Design organization at Side, our methods, culture and product long-term vision
  • Discover the temp work industry, what is at stake and our strategic positioning on the market
  • Adopt and learn to use our everyday tools such as: Asana, Notion, Looker, Amplitude
  • Experience our remote work routine

2. Within 3 months

HR

  • Discover our hiring framework, shadow hiring product & tech process

Product management

  • Deep-dive into our PM discovery methods: analyse current system, collect qualitative and quantitative data, identify issues and write intermission
  • Apply Side’s product method on a first new feature: collaborate successfully with design/tech teams and other stakeholders, run user tests, write specifications, drive feature adoption
  • Ensure the quality of the feature and follow up on results
  • Formulate recommendations on how to make those methods evolve in a context of a growing product team
  • Hold PM meetings and rituals

Strategy

  • Adopt quarterly product roadmap process as well as suggestions backlog

3. Within 6 months

HR

  • Own the recruitment process at Side and hire one to multiple new PM(s) depending on recruitment plan: the product team will grow from 10 to 30 people in 2023
  • Set up an onboarding and training process for new PMs joining the team
  • Challenge the existing PM trajectory and grid to make it more consistent and attractive

Strategy

  • Build yearly and quarterly roadmap based on actual user interviews and product knowledge in order to come even closer to the best experience possible, collaboratively with the Head of Product and your PM team!
  • Prepare for internationalisation doubling in scale (at least !) by building scalable and sustainable features

Product management

  • Mentor other junior/intermediate PM, or designers and developers who seek to skill up on product management
  • Take the initiative to think of and implement new processes, tools and best practices to make sure that your team’s work outputs are improved; set KPIs we review on a regular basis to follow up on our general impact

Preferované skúsenosti

Core skills, you’ll need them

  • 5 years+ experience in Product Management with at least one previous experience as a Lead Product Manager
  • Previous experience in building or growing a product team
  • Strong documentation and writing skills: discovery and thought process must be documented
  • Basic tech knowledge and regular successful interactions with tech teams
  • Used to working in a remote environment - be able to be at the Paris office once to twice a month

Soft skills

  • Interpersonal skills: to meet and empathize with users, but also with the product/other teams in order to gain trust and understand others’ needs
  • Ownership: be able to take informed decisions, explain thought process and take responsability even if it doesn’t go as planned
  • Curiosity: you are interested in getting to know team mates, users, and dig into their needs and pain points
  • Attention to details: make sure all dependencies are taken into account, that curent system is exhaustive and that we don’t take rushed decisions without understanding consequences
  • Adaptability: be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work with missing information/context, adapt if not everything goes as expected and be pragmatic about solutions to implement

Nice to have, but don’t let that stop you !

  • Design skills: UX research, use of Figma
  • Previous experience in a fast-growing/scale up environement and/or international company
  • Habit of getting onboarded/testing/benchmarking new products
  • Advanced tech knowledge
  • Knowledge of our tools: Asana, Notion, Looker, Amplitude
  • Previous experience in HR tech
