Missions
As the Senior Manager of the IT function, you are responsible for leading both the IT Project and IT Support teams. This includes fostering a collaborative, autonomous, and high-performance culture, ensuring continuous development and training of team members, and managing daily and long-term objectives (projects, quality, security, compliance, communication).
You will oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and career development of IT staff, conduct regular performance reviews, and ensure alignment with organizational strategy and values.
You are expected to champion autonomy and initiative within the teams and lead by example in fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and innovation.
You are responsible for the overall delivery and quality of IT operations at Pennylane:
Overseeing the administration and security of IT infrastructure and architecture (e.g., Okta, Cloudflare ZTNA, Google Workspace, Jamf, Slack, Notion).
Ensuring efficient and secure software administration, including access management, rights management, and compliance with security standards.
Managing the IT fleet, including configuration, updates, and inventory tracking.
Coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees, external partners, and freelancers.
Supervising the helpdesk and support functions, ensuring high service quality and compliance with internal SLAs.
You are responsible for ensuring that all IT activities comply with Pennylane’s security and compliance requirements:
Implementing and enforcing access control policies and user provisioning at scale.
Overseeing the execution of security audits, access reviews, and the maintenance of IT-related security policies (including ISO 27001 and DORA compliance).
Monitoring IT security metrics, responding to incidents, and addressing non-compliance (e.g., shadow IT, security bypasses).
Ensuring all IT operations align with the Security / IT Mission Principles, balancing security with business impact, and fostering a security culture across Pennylane.
You will own the IT component of the Security/IT Roadmap, ensuring that projects are delivered according to plan, risks are managed, and objectives are met:
Managing the IT project and support roadmaps, tracking progress, and reporting to the Head of Information and Security.
Identifying and prioritizing IT initiatives in alignment with business needs and security requirements.
Ensuring that IT projects follow established governance, documentation, and change management processes.
Collaborating with other departments (e.g., Finance, HR, AppSec, Compliance) to deliver cross-functional initiatives and support business growth.
You will serve as a key point of contact for IT matters, representing the IT function in cross-departmental collaborations and external relationships (e.g., vendors, auditors).
You will ensure that IT communicates effectively with stakeholders, delivers clear and actionable information, and supports the organization’s strategic goals.
The IT team consists of two operational teams:
The IT Project team includes 3 administrators (including a manager) and 1 apprentice. The team manages core IT infrastructure (Okta, Cloudflare ZTNA, Google Workspace, etc.), optimizes internal workflows, maintains compliance against ISO 27001 policies, conducts security audits, manages tool access through SSO/SCIM, and ensures security compliance.
The IT Support team includes 5 administrators (including a manager). The team supports both on-site and remote employees through ticketing, manages onboarding and offboarding, handles equipment and software provisioning, ensures compliance with internal IT policies, maintains hardware inventory, manages access and rights, and delivers training and knowledge base management.
IT teams in total are expected to grow to 12 members, during 2026.
The IT team belongs to the Security / IT department, which also includes:
the Application Security team responsible for security in the development and maintenance of the Pennylane software,
the Security Compliance team managing compliance with ISO 27001, DORA and other frameworks,
the Incident Management function ensuring business continuity across Pennylane,
the Financial Security function overviewing all operations against fraud and financial crime.
Skills
Proven experience in IT operations and team management, ideally in a fast-growing, SaaS, or regulated environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams in IT project and support functions with a hands-on, operational approach.
Strong fluency in regular IT operations: SaaS administration (Google Workspace, Jamf, Slack, Notion, etc.), fleet management, onboarding/offboarding processes, and helpdesk management. Experience in Apple environments remains a bonus.
Solid understanding of security and compliance requirements related to IT (data protection, access management, ISO 27001 or SOC 2, DORA) with ability to implement and enforce policies operationally.
Rigorous, autonomous, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach with strong operational execution skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in both English and French.
Ability to decompose complex problems, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver measurable outcomes through hands-on execution.
Comfortable managing change operationally, balancing security and business needs, and communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
Experience with vendor management and cross-functional coordination is valued.
