What you will do:

HSBC Data & Architecture Office (DAO) promotes a data-driven culture across HSBC through our strategy of:

• Protect: To protect our data we need robust policies for data management and enhanced governance e.g. data that is consumed from a trusted source, meets quality standards, and complies with regulatory obligations.

Europe Data Manager reports into the Europe Data Engagement Lead and is responsible for working with business and functional leads across the bank, at global, regional and country level, to implement data initiatives that will lift the capability and maturity of the business, unlock new opportunities for growth and lead to operational simplification.

In this role you will:

• Evangelise and act as the ambassador for the execution of the HSBC Data Strategy & Vision across Ireland, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Partner with senior stakeholders across the business and Data & Analytics Office (DAO) to implement the multi-year strategic roadmap to execute against the defined strategy ensuring data is at the forefront of delivery against business outcomes.

• Fully accountable for reporting of progress, issues, dependencies, and risks to stakeholders, committees and/or steering committees. Make recommendations to influence decision-making to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realization.

• Become a trusted advisor, manage stakeholder's expectations and working relationship with the local teams with focus on transparency and collaboration.

• Control and manage benefits delivery across multiple initiatives.

• Manage the implementation of HSBC data governance and quality guidelines, procedures, methods etc.

• Will support Internal Audits on Data related topics, and will support DPOs and regulatory affairs on regulatory requests.

• Collaborate with 2LoD to provide a clear and understandable Data Risk position with corresponding path to green, it includes the embedment of the risk management framework through Helios and formal risk forums.

• Be accountable for Entity/Country/Region to provide a 360 view to CEOs, COOs, CIOs and CRO on Data control effectiveness.

• Be accountable to ensure sustainable and operational effectiveness on Data controls at Entity/Country/Region, including effectiveness of GBGF operating model and central Datavisa operating model.

• Facilitate monitoring, assessment and implementation of Group Data framework.

• Be accountable for effective data portfolio management for regional projects and engage Group Data to provide visibility of the status and impacts of global projects in the region.

• Align Entity/Country/Region business and change objectives with Group Data for improved data controls, defining local data plans.

• Drive cross GBGFs interaction and cooperation to resolve Data related issues.

• Collaborate with FLOD and SLOD to provide inputs in management and risk papers related to Data controls. Provide regular inputs into local DBS RCMM and DBS Opco.

• Responsible to provide regular updates to the HBCE Data Executive Council to address the most important Data topics like control effectiveness, KCIs, escalations, project updates and status of main initiatives.

• Facilitate and lead Entity/Country/Region data requirements and follow up implementation through local or global projects.

Conditions

You should apply if you have:

  • At least 5 years of governance, management, or execution activities in data related projects.
  • Superior project reporting skills.
  • Strong written ,verbal communication & presentation skills including stakeholder management.
  • Effective decision-making, influencing, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in Agile delivery and JIRA.
  • Worked with an international bank preferably with multiple lines of business and functions.
  • Experience of working with globally and culturally diverse teams.
  • Nice to have experience:
    • Experience with data privacy and data retention
    • Experience on GDPR operations and implementation
    • Experience in leading the implementation of data management related projects
    • Regulatory or Regulatory reporting project implementation within the Financial services.
