The purpose of this position is to lead a team of Soft Services Supervisors & housekeepers to provide a safe, well maintained and clean environment within the premises of the Dubai Metro railway in line with customer expectations performance target.

The senior Soft Services Supervisor will be roaming, having responsibility, for a specified number of stations, depots and car parks, all of which form part of their area of responsibility.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

People accountabilities

• Management and supervision of different disciplines of staff, Soft Services supervisors (5) and Housekeeping staff (40 to 45) to ensure they deliver the cleaning standards within the premises of Dubai Metro;
• Conduct Performance Appraisals of Soft Services supervisors

Supports the Soft Service Manager in

• Planning, Supervision and delivering cleaning services within the 51 premises of Dubai Metro such as stations, car parks, ancillary buildings, trains and depots to achieve RTA KPI targets in accordance with the Concession Agreement

Sub-contractor Management

• Liaise with Manpower Supplier in the event of shortages and absenteeism of housekeeping staff on daily basis and update Soft Services Manager in relation to issues during the shift
• After identifying the shortage of housekeeping staff, ensure that relief staffs are deployed on shift to cover the gaps until such time that Manpower Supplier send replacement.
• Verify and approve records for manpower KPIs at the end of each month
• Supervise and oversee operation and maintenance of large cleaning of equipment (Aed Value 850,000) and tools in the premises of the Dubai Metro such as stations, car parks, trains, depots and offices as assigned.
• Follow up with Large equipment supplier in case of faulty equipment and report to Soft Services Manager s if the fault is not resolved in 24 hours
• Monitor the services provided by the Waste Management, Pest control, Feminine Hygiene and laundry subcontractor with in specified area of responsibility and highlight any possible changes to the service which will lead to cost savings to Soft Services Manager
• Conduct inspection with the client eyes to verify compliance on site to check that working instructions and processes are being followed and audit records maintained by Enova/MBM
  • 1. Highlight safety critical issues to the Soft Services Manager
    2. Identify training gaps and take immediate action
    3. Ensure that adequate stock levels of consumables, chemicals and tools are maintained by the subcontractor

Technical Planning and Allocation;

• Review cleaning frequencies, work flows and special cleaning calendars to ensure optimum cleaning standards within Dubai Metro facilities (stations, car parks, depots and trains);
• Review work instructions
• Verify the monthly roster (650 staff) submitted by Manpower Supplier for housekeeping staff
• Assist Soft Services Manager to verify monthly roster for Soft Services Supervisors
• Brief all the Soft Services Supervisors for any Operational Notices/requirements for service delivery changes/improvement;
• Update large equipment consumables and spare part database on monthly basis as per the delivery reports submitted by large equipment supplier
• Support Soft Services Manager to plan ‘Annual Leave’ for Soft Services Supervisors
• Conduct spot checks with in assigned area of responsibility and ensure that stock holding levels of the cleaning consumables are maintained and report discrepancy to Soft Services Manager
• Perform inspections as scheduled by the Soft Services Manager and send monthly report by end of each month.

Recruitment and Training

• Plan and conduct interviews for the Machine Operators and Team Leaders
• Deliver work instruction and on the job training to the newly recruited Soft Services Supervisors
• Identify Soft Services Supervisors who require additional training/coaching and arrange to deliver required training
• Deliver work instruction and Procedure training to newly recruited Housekeeping staff. Support Soft Services Manager to assess newly recruited Housekeeping staff after the training

Procurement 

• Report to Soft Services Manager for purchase of cleaning products (chemicals)
• Coordinate within specified locations for all departmental post and ensure daily delivery to the departmental administrator in Rashidiya Depot
• Ensure all departmental documentation is completed accurately prior being sent to departmental administrator on monthly basis.
• Verify departmental forms for audit purpose and escalate issues to Soft Services Manager 
• Coordinate with Soft Services Manager for transport requirement for Soft Services Supervisors
• Perform regular safety reviews, audits and inspections on cleaning works activity;
• Carry out periodic health, safety, quality, environment and operational briefing to the Soft Services supervisors
• Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the Soft Services Manager

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRMENT 

• Basic computer knowledge.

KEY SKILLS

• Ability to supervise a team of housekeepers with an aim to meet the committed performance target of cleanliness in a cost effective and efficient manner.
• Good interpersonal and people skills, and a mature, methodical and responsible approach to work.
• Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to demonstrate both good literacy and numeracy skills required for the role.

EXPERIANCE

• A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Senior Soft Services Supervisor in Dubai Metro

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFCATION

• High School Diploma.
• Preferably with BICSc (British Institute of Cleaning Science) or equivalent.
