About the Team Hiring

Our team is responsible for meticulously processing financial transactions and serves as the guardian of the Audited Annual Financial Statements.

We oversee Cash Management activities (including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, etc.) in strict adherence to Corporate Group Policies and local regulations, ensuring a consistently low Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

With unwavering dedication, we deliver monthly reports to the Group within prescribed deadlines and conduct thorough analyses to elucidate variances between actual results and budgeted figures.

Collaborating closely with all business functions (Sales, Order Operations, Technology, etc.), we provide support to the Graitec leadership team. Our pivotal role involves defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to empower informed decision-making, thus propelling business growth and facilitating the attainment of country-specific targets.

Overview

 

Role Purpose/Objective

The primary objective of the Accountant role is to provide comprehensive support to the Finance Manager in Germany, ensuring the seamless operation of the department and the timely completion of all tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in adherence to German GAAP standards.
  • Process all general ledger transactions using the local ERP system (DATEV).
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Manage the processing of expense reports.
  • Determine and document provisions and accruals.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate software revenue recognition during monthly closing procedures.
  • Handle financial matters related to insurance and rent.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Continuously enhance finance and accounting processes to align with statutory regulations and Graitec policies.
  • Coordinate finance-related matters (expenses, budget, dunning process) with other departments such as Order Operations, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Collaborate closely with the Graitec team across multiple European subsidiaries.
  • Participate in various internal projects as assigned.
  • Act as a knowledgeable point of contact for auditors and tax consultants.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
  • Adherence to Reporting Deadlines
  • Annual Audited Financial Statements with no reserves
  • Consistency between Accounting and Invoicing Management Systems
Responsibilities
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an accounting role
  • International experience is a plus
  • Experience with preparing and processing of journal entries, month-end reporting
  • Experience in an auditing firm is an advantage
  • Experience with planning/forecast processes is a plus
  • Experience in working with ERP/reporting systems is a plus, ideally Microsoft Dynamics F&O and SAP BFC
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration with spezialisation in finance/accounting or equivalent (e. g. qualification as German Bilanzbuchhalter)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Proficiency in accounting system DATEV
  • Fluent in German, proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Highly organized and energetic self-starter with a strong attention to detail and affinity for numbers
