The Role

We’re looking for a People Ops & Office Specialist to join Bitstack and help us build the next stage of our employee experience and operations.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring everything related to our people, payroll, and workplace runs smoothly, from onboarding new joiners to coordinating with our external partners and making sure our office feels great to work in.

This is a hands-on People Operations role where you’ll blend structure with empathy. You’ll work closely with the People Lead to support our growing team, strengthen our people processes, and make Bitstack an even better place to work.

Why we’re hiring

We’ve just moved into our new Paris office and are scaling quickly. We’re building more structure across People Operations and culture, and we need someone to help us make that transition smooth, someone who loves both process and people.

What You'll Be Doing

In your first 30 days, you’ll:

  • Get up to speed on our people operations setup, HR tools, and policies.

  • Take ownership of onboarding logistics and documentation for new joiners.

  • Learn how we manage payroll, benefits, and compliance, with support from the People Lead.

  • Begin managing daily office operations (supplies, vendors, coordination with our office management partner).

In your first 60 days, you’ll:

  • Fully own the payroll process, preparing and validating monthly payroll data in Payfit, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Coordinate with our lawyers for employment contracts, amendments, and HR compliance topics.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors such as our Alan, Swile, and office service providers.

  • Support company-wide processes like performance reviews, engagement surveys, and learning sessions, handling logistics, scheduling, and communications.

In your first 90 days, you’ll:

  • Be the operational backbone for all People processes, from contracts to payroll to benefits.

  • Maintain HR compliance and employee records, ensuring deadlines and legal obligations are met.

  • Continuously improve our workflows and tools to make them more efficient and scalable.

  • Take initiative on People Ops projects that improve employee experience and operational excellence.

  • Continue managing and improving our office environment to keep it productive, organized, and welcoming.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–4 years of experience in People Operations at a startup or scale-up environment.

  • Proven experience owning payroll operations, ideally with Payfit or Deel.

  • Solid understanding of French employment law and HR compliance basics.

  • Experience managing relationships with external vendors (e.g. legal, Swile, insurance providers, office partners).

  • Strong organizational skills, you can manage multiple moving parts without losing track.

  • Excellent communication in French and English (written and spoken - we work primarily in English).

  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable switching between people, process, and office topics.

  • Based in or around Paris, the role is office-first, with flexibility when needed.

Interview Process

  1. Intro Call (30 min)
    An initial conversation with our People Lead to get to know you better and share more details about the role, the team, and how we work at Bitstack

  2. Take Home Task & Task Review Call (60 min)
    You’ll receive a practical task to complete in your own time. Once submitted, we’ll schedule a review call to walk through your solution together and explore your thought process in more detail.

  3. Behavioural Interview (60 min)
    A conversation centered on your experiences, decision-making, and collaboration style. We’ll discuss real-world scenarios to understand how you navigate technical challenges, teamwork, and stakeholder interactions.
