We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist (staff level) who will serve as a technical leader in driving innovation and shaping our data strategy.

This role demands a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and business acumen to tackle high-impact challenges across our organization.

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will represent the cornerstone of this team delivery, working transversally in the company (squads and business teams).

Main responsibilities

You will be responsible for spearheading strategic data initiatives, developing scalable end-to-end ML solutions, and influencing key business decisions.

Your experience in building advanced recommender systems, personalization and search solutions (with a focus on ElasticSearch), as well as leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), will be critical in enhancing user experiences and driving our core product offerings. You collaborate cross-functionally to translate business objectives into innovative data solutions.

• Algorithmic Development: develop state-of-the-art solutions for recommender systems, personalization, and search functionalities optimized for our B2B ecommerce environment

• Leadership & Mentorship: act as a technical leader and mentor for the data science team, cultivating an environment of innovation and continuous learning

• Technical Vision & Strategy: evaluate emerging technologies, including cutting-edge developments in LLMs, and integrate these innovations into our ecosystem

• Strategic Business Alignment: champion a data-driven culture across the organization, identifying new opportunities to improve our products and services

To do so, you will work closely with Product Managers, Tech and Data Engineers, and report to the Head of Data.

Tech Stack: Python, SQL, FastAPI, GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, Airflow, Clickhouse, Aiven, openAPI, ...

Requirements

• M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent field

• 7+ years of industry experience on machine-learning teams, with at least one year in a leadership position

• Experience building and deploying machine learning models in production

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: NLP, ranking, search engine, recommender systems

• Experience with modern back-end machine learning tech stacks

• Strong programming skills, especially in Python

• Solid understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices, general software development principles

• An excitement and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.

• Experience with relational databases and noSQL databases

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others in a closely collaborative team environment.

• Experience in training, launching, and iterating on machine-learning models
