The First Desalination Plant project in the Neom region of Saudi Arabia will mobilize the most advanced membrane treatment techniques to create a world-first Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) desalination plant. This innovative, large-scale project (500 MLD) will be designed and built by SIDEM, which will be responsible for Engineering, Procurement and Commissioning.

The Project Director is responsible for the execution phase of the contract won by SIDEM. As such, he/she is responsible for managing the Engineering, Purchasing and Commissioning phases of the Neom Project (± 800m$-duration: 4 years), in compliance with performance, schedule, budget and specifications.

The main tasks will include:

Technical

• Execute the contract won by SIDEM
• Develop, organize and adapt activities to meet the objectives defined by the contract
• Define priorities and establish the budget
• Ensure control of planning, budgets and contract compliance

Management

• Manage the contractual relationship with the client and the construction partner(s)
• Coordinate all activities in the execution phase and ensure compliance with contractual specifications
• Assist and advise the team of engineers and technicians
• Supervising and managing a team
• Distribute the workload within the team
• Ensure reporting to management 

Finance

• Establish and manage the budget of the project for which he/she is responsible.
• Optimize the profitability of the project
• Manage the risks
• Maintain or improve the gross margin of the contract

Safety

• Know, apply and enforce applicable standards and regulations. Check or have checked their application by his/her team
• Plan safety training for the people under his/her responsibility
• Make personal protective equipment available to the people under his/her responsibility and ensure their training. 
• Promote the Prevention and Safety policy to his/her teams and subcontractors
• Ensure reporting and implement corrective actions following an accident, near miss or subcontractor accident
• Responsible for the safety of the people under his/her authority on the site

Quality

• Know, apply and enforce applicable standards and regulations
• Know, apply and ensure the application of procedures relating to your activity. Check or have their application checked by his/her colleagues
• Ensure that non-conformities are dealt with and apply corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure the reporting of QMS indicators and improvement actions to his/her management

Level of Education and Professional Experience Required

Engineering degree combined with proven experience (15 years) in the management of major international projects in the water treatment or Oil & Gas sectors.

Technical skills / Personal abilities :

• Fluency in English and French is mandatory.
