At our Siemens Foundational Technologies Development Center we are focused on a product development including software development, hardware development, mechanical design, and testing for the next generation concept of Industry 4.0.
Join us in development of an industrial automation platform designed for field devices, some of them designed for functional safety-critical applications up to SIL3. This innovative solution emphasizes standardization across flow, level, pressure, temperature and other measurement applications, and supports a wide array of communication protocols including HART®, PROFINET, MODBUS, PROFIBUS PA, EtherNet/IP, and more. You will work closely with experts from various fields—including software architecture, continuous integration, development, hardware, mechanical design, and certifications—both locally and internationally.
Your task will be:
- Facilitate agile methodologies and ceremonies in a cross-functional team
- Collaborate with product owner, functional safety coordinator, and other stakeholders to foster transparency, resolve impediments, and align the team's efforts with project objectives.
- Monitor team progress through agile metrics and ensure effective communication across international and cross-cultural teams.
- Ensure that functional safety requirements and compliance activities are properly integrated into sprint planning and product backlogs
- Support process improvement initiatives, ensuring that the overall development pipeline (including CI/CD practices, build configurations, and release management) is efficient, scalable, and compliant with functional safety standards
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and functional safety specialists to ensure proper documentation and traceability of functional safety-related activities
- Making use of AI assistants to maximize productivity
What we will appreciate from you:
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile leadership role, with a track record of effectively guiding cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of agile tools, concepts and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, …) and the ability to implement these methodologies in a functional safety-critical, industrial automation environment.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the capacity to collaborate with diverse technical experts and international teams.
- Ability to identify and remove impediments related to both SW development and functional safety compliance processes
- SW background preferred
- Ideas of how to balance agility with the documentation and traceability needs of safety-critical software development welcomed.
- Awareness of functional safety standards (such as IEC 61508) and their implications for development processes is advantageous
- Open mindset
- Actively used English language
