Cure51, a pioneering biotech company, focuses on leveraging the unique biology of long-term cancer survivors for novel target discovery and precision medicine tools. We are seeking a Computational Biologist with strong experience in cancer biology, large-scale NGS data analysis and bioinformatic tool development. This role requires a high-level of understanding of both molecular biology and cancer genomics as well as the ability to iterate fast and work autonomously. We are particularly interested in profiles with some experience in target discovery.

  • Develop robust analysis workflows and bioinformatic tools to process different types of NGS data

  • Champion scientific rigour and analysis in the team

  • Develop bespoke algorithms for combining and prioritising the results we generate

  • Record and communicate results to internal stakeholders and in team meetings


Requisitos

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD in bioinformatics or related discipline

  • Experience working with common bioinformatic tools and libraries (conda, github, samtools, IGV)

  • Strong programming ability in either Python and R (ideally both)

  • Experience in the analysis and interpretation of multiple types of NGS data (RNA-Seq, DNA-Seq, scRNA-Seq)

  • Expert-level understanding of molecular biology and a familiarity with biological databases and resources

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a strong emphasis on organisation and time management

  • Ability to communicate complex scientific topics to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in English

Nice To Have:

  • Good development practices (git, github, unit testing, CI/CD)

  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud

  • Experience in a workflow language such as Nextflow

  • Experience working with frozen and FFPE clinical data

  • Experience developing ML / AI models in a biological context

  • Experience in target discovery
