About BlaBlaCar

BlaBlaCar is the world’s leading community-based travel app enabling 26 million members a year to carpool or travel by bus in 21 countries. Our team of 800 employees counts over 50 nationalities and is spread across our 5 global offices, 30% working fully remotely.

Your Mission

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the Bus & Train team at BlaBlaCar.

The company’s mission is to make BlaBlaCar the go-to marketplace for shared road travel (hence excluding airlines). To achieve this mission, we are currently developing other supplies than our historic carpool activity: we operate a marketplace of small bus carriers in Brazil and Eastern Europe, and we are soon going to sell train tickets from several European train operators. The Data Bus & Train team, part of the central Data team, bridges the distance from developers to business stakeholders providing & owning data pipelines from those two supplies. We build dashboards and algorithms to optimise the operations, evaluate the demand and provide key actionable insights for the business teams.

As an Analytics Engineer, your role is to own BlaBlaCar’s data from the raw layer to the reporting layer. You will work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Software Engineers to continuously provide data products to make decisions on the product. You will also contribute to the Data Engineering Chapter, a horizontal group of Data Engineers & Analytics Engineers, whose mission is to improve tools and make them more efficient in their day-to-day by innovative technologies, processes, etc.

Within the Data Bus & Train team, you will be working alongside Antoine, the other Analytics Engineer of the team, on:

• Building efficient and robust data models for large volumes of data

• Developing and optimising the data workflows from the raw layer to the data mart in our data platform

• Implementing solutions to improve the data quality

• Taking a central part in the Data Engineering Chapter, defining policies and standards for data management
