The Accounting & Reporting Advisory (ARA) group is a dedicated team of IFRS, US GAAP and LUX GAAP experts that seek to use accounting standards constructively and positively to help clients on complex accounting matters – be it providing expert input and challenge to transactions or providing the assurance that their IFRS, Lux GAAP or US GAAP reporting will stand up to scrutiny.

ARA is a client-facing group that is accustomed to being the expert in the room. ARA is also in charge of dealing with accounting consultations received from the engagement teams of Deloitte. The ARA team members are experts in accounting standards and their practical application to address the challenges faced by clients in different industries.

Your contribution to our success

The role requires both strong technical and business development capabilities. As a Manager in ARA, you will take ownership of complex client engagements and play a key role in developing the team:

• Lead and manage advisory engagements - covering new standards implementation, conversion from one GAAP to another, structured transactions, accounting policy reviews and financial statement reviews - from scoping and planning through delivery and quality review, including presentation of findings and recommendations to senior client management.
• Drive the development of the practice by acting as a dynamic “motor” within the team: proactively shaping our service offering, contributing to the growth of the ARA brand and supporting the implementation of our strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to business development by building and maintaining client relationships, identifying follow-on opportunities within existing engagements, preparing proposals and contributing to eminence-building initiatives such as internal guidance, technical notes, training sessions and client presentations.
• Manage, coach and develop team members, providing on-the-job training, constructive feedback and helping to build a strong technical and client-facing skillset across the team.
• Act as the subject matter contact for audit teams and clients on complex accounting transactions, consolidation challenges and financial reporting matters.
• Review and challenge technical analysis prepared by senior and junior staff, ensuring robust conclusions and high-quality deliverables under IFRS, Lux GAAP and US GAAP.
• Deliver seamless, joined-up expert input alongside other Deloitte teams (e.g. tax, consulting) and proactively identify opportunities for cross-service offerings.

Profile description:

• 6+ years’ experience with IFRS and/or Lux GAAP and/or US GAAP in professional services or corporate accounting policy, ideally in the financial or commercial sector
• Proven ability to lead and review complex IFRS/US GAAP (and preferably Lux GAAP) accounting matters, including drafting and assessing technical memorandums and client deliverables.  
• Track record in managing projects and teams: planning engagements, monitoring budgets and timelines, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality client service.  
• Strong business acumen and advisory skills, connecting accounting implications to commercial and strategic considerations and identifying value-creation opportunities.   
• Chartered Accountant qualification (IRE, DEC, IRE Belge, ACCA, US CPA or equivalent) and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Your skills

• 6+ years’ experience with IFRS and/or Lux GAAP and/or US GAAP in professional services or corporate accounting policy, ideally in the financial or commercial sector; exposure to consolidated financial statements and complex group structures is a plus.  
• Proven ability to lead and review complex IFRS/US GAAP (and preferably Lux GAAP) accounting matters, including drafting and assessing technical memorandums and client deliverables.  
• Track record in managing projects and teams: planning engagements, monitoring budgets and timelines, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality client service.  
• Strong business acumen and advisory skills, connecting accounting implications to commercial and strategic considerations and identifying value-creation opportunities.  
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders and build trusted relationships.  
• Chartered Accountant qualification (IRE, DEC, IRE Belge, ACCA, US CPA or equivalent) and commitment to ongoing professional development.  
• Fluency in English; French, German or Luxembourgish are an asset.  
• Solid understanding of financial or commercial industries and related regulation, plus strong skills in Microsoft Office, analytics tools, and effective use of AI to improve efficiency and deliverable quality.
