About This Role

The Spend & Performance Analyst, Supply Chain supports the Purchasing and Supply Chain Organization by providing data driven insights into supplier spend, cost performance, and operational efficiency.  This role plays a critical part in enabling fact based decision making, identifying cost reduction opportunities, improving supplier performance, and supporting the scalability of supply chain processes in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with large datasets, and able to translate complex data into clear insights for both technical and non technical stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

Spend Analysis & Cost Management

  • Analyze direct/ indirect material spend across categories, suppliers, and commodities.
  • Develop and maintain spend dashboards to track pricing trends, cost drivers, and savings initiatives.
  • Identify cost reduction, value engineering, and supplier consolidation opportunities.
  • Support cost normalization analysis, should-cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and cost evolution analysis.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Define, track, and report on key purchasing and supply chain KPIs (e.g., PPV, OTIF, lead time, inventory turns, supplier quality).
  • Create standardized reports and executive-ready dashboards to support monthly and quarterly internal-facing and external-facing business reviews.
  • Monitor supplier performance and highlight risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.

Supplier & Category Support

  • Support Purchasing data for negotiations, RFQs, and supplier reviews.
  • Assist in supplier scorecard development and ongoing performance tracking.
  • Provide analytical support for sourcing decisions and make-versus-buy evaluations.

Data & Systems

  • Extract, cleanse, and analyze data from ERP, MRP, and other supply chain systems.
  • Improve data accuracy and governance related to purchasing and supplier master data.
  • Support automation and continuous improvement of reporting and analytics processes.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Quality to align cost, performance, and operational objectives. 
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis related to material spend. 
  • Contribute to supply chain transformation and industrialization initiatives. 

 

Essential Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, Analytics, or related field.
  • Purchasing and/or Supply Chain degree, certification, and/or accreditation is an asset.
  • 5 plus years of experience in supply chain analytics, purchasing, finance, or operations (manufacturing and/or engineered-to-order environment preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with data visualization tools (QlikSense, Power BI, Tableau, or similar). SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Syspro, or similar).
  • Data-driven decision making.
  • Knowledge of supply chain KPIs, sourcing processes, and cost drivers.
  • Business acumen and financial literacy.
  • Process improvement mindset.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both intra- and interdepartmentally, with demonstrated ability to influence without authority.

 

Compensation range: $80,000 – $85,000 CAD
