IDHwt Glioma /Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common malignancy of the brain in adults and the most aggressive type due to its infiltrative growth pattern and heterogeneity.
One of our main challenges in developing new therapies for glioma is the lack of in vitro preclinical models that faithfully reproduce the properties of tumors in patients.
The candidate will constitute an organoid and patient-derived cell line biobank from fresh surgical tumor resection of glioma IDHwt patients. He/she will set up the best culture conditions to preserve the tissues and performed complex human-induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cerebral organoids for implementation of glioblastoma-coculture models. The candidate will define cellular integrity, heterogeneity and molecular characteristics using state-of-the-art technologies in immunohistochemistry, cytometry, imaging and multi-omics. The development of these relevant disease models will ultimately benefit to our drug discovery programs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and perform complex cellular studies
- Establish a biobank and implement relevant cellular models for in vitro pharmacology
- Make detailed scientific observations, analyze data, interpret and present results
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g. Oncology Therapeutic Area, US Research, Integrative Molecular Pharmacology, Translational Medicine, Research Support)
- Follow literature in the field
- Participate to associated projects in the group
- Communicate research data at internal events and participate to external meetings
- Participate to lab life and respect HSE rules
