The Manager, Product Development Color & Material is responsible for executing color and material development across assigned footwear categories, ensuring design intent is delivered with high quality, on time, and within cost targets.
This role partners closely with Design, Product Merchandising, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to develop scalable, consumer-right color and material solutions that support seasonal strategies and brand objectives.
MAIN REPONSIBILITIES :
Product Development Execution
· Manage end-to-end color and material development from design handoff through production approval.
· Ensure material feasibility, manufacturability, performance, and quality standards are met.
· Execute seasonal material and color direction aligned with design intent and category strategy.
· Support innovation in materials, finishes, and sustainable solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Operational Excellence
· Manage development calendars, ensuring milestones and on-time delivery across seasons.
· Partner with Sourcing and Manufacturing to resolve material, color, or production challenges.
· Support cost optimization while maintaining quality and aesthetic standards.
· Track and report on development KPIs related to timing, cost, and quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with Design, Materials, Quality, CSR, and Supply Chain to align execution with intent.
· Communicate risks, constraints, and opportunities clearly and proactively.
· Support adoption of new tools, processes, and best practices in development.
Team & Capability Building
· Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
· Share knowledge and best practices across regions and teams.
· Support onboarding and development of junior teammates where applicable.
PROFIL : MAIN SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
· Solid experience in footwear color and material development.
· Strong understanding of materials, finishes, color application, and manufacturing processes.
· Experience working with Asian manufacturing partners.
· Strong organizational and project management skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
· Proficiency with PLM and digital development tools preferred.
