Carry out textile dyeing operations according to established protocols, ensure control of all relevant physico-chemical parameters, and validate the quality of dyed products through appropriate testing and analysis.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and Execution of Dyeing Processes:
○ Prepare dye baths following the defined formulas.
○ Carry out dyeing on samples in strict compliance with process parameters (temperature, pH, time, agitation, etc.).
2. Monitoring of Process Parameters:
○ Monitor, control, and adjust key parameters influencing dyeing results.
○ Accurately document process conditions for traceability and repeatability.
3. Quality Control and Analysis:
○ Perform quality tests: color fastness (to washing, rubbing, light), shade consistency, uniformity, etc.
○ Analyze and interpret results; report and investigate any non-conformities.
○ Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
4. Documentation and Traceability:
○ Ensure full traceability of operations: protocols followed, results obtained, deviations noted.
○ Assist in updating technical documentation, lab records, and SOPs.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
○ Work closely with the R&D and process Team.
○ Participate in application process improvement initiatives.
○ Support industrial trials and scale-up from lab to production.
6. Compliance with safety procedures:
○ Apply and enforce all relevant safety protocols when handling chemicals, operating dyeing equipment, or working in the lab.
○ Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
Required Skills and Technical Knowledge:
● Solid knowledge of textile fibers (cellulose-based, synthetic, protein-based, etc.)
● Familiarity with dye classes and auxiliaries suited to different substrates.
● Understanding of dye chemistry, dyeing kinetics, and dye/fiber compatibility.
● Ability to follow and apply technical procedures.
● Experience with lab equipment: dyeing machines, pH meters, spectrophotometers, ovens, etc.
● Basic understanding of metrology and quality standards (ISO, NF, …etc).
● Use of Google Workspace to collaborate and report results. Education and Experience: ● Minimum Bac+2/3 or equivalent: Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Textile Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.
● Previous experience in textile dyeing (lab or industrial environment) preferred.
Personal Qualities:
● Problem-solver mindset: You enjoy tackling technical challenges and finding practical, efficient solutions.
● Adaptable and proactive: You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities can shift.
● Detail-oriented and rigorous: You take pride in precision and consistency, especially when following protocols or recording results.
● Organized and reliable: You manage your tasks efficiently and contribute to maintaining smooth lab operations.
● Team player: You communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams.
● Communication: You are comfortable working in both French and English, in writing and in speech.
