Get to know Work With Island 🏝️

Work With Island designs and manufactures soundproof cabins for new workspaces. Having worked in shared spaces, we understand their limitations: few places to isolate oneself and meeting rooms often monopolized. It is to provide this moment of serenity and productivity that Work With Island was born. We produce in France using recycled and recyclable materials, cabins for 1 to 4 people that can be set up in less than 30 minutes.

The intern will play a proactive role in proposing improvements to V1, considering design criteria such as aesthetics, cost, timeline, and performance. They will oversee all phases of enhancement projects, from conception to industrialization, and act as a technical reference for the product team, offering support on various technical matters. The intern will also contribute to export-related topics, including packaging, standards, and electricity. Additionally, they will actively participate in the design of Island V2, following the roadmap established by the head of product.

🎯 Main responsabilities: 

Primary Missions:

• Infuse my creativity and expertise into collaborating with the acoustics and UX team to craft new features and innovative versions of our phone booths.
• Actively contribute to validating the structural integrity of furniture envisioned by the UX team, paying meticulous attention to quality assurance.
• Engage proactively in studying standards, ensuring, when necessary, a seamless alignment of our product range with these benchmarks.
• Collaborate on reimagining a new architectural framework: walls, ceilings, floors, doors, fans, exploring optimal assembly methods.

Secondary Missions:

• Contribute to integrating cutting-edge IoT technologies into our phone booths for an increasingly connected user experience.
• Bring forth my inventive touch to elevate packaging design for streamlined exportation.

Aurélien joined WWI in July 2021 as Product Conception Engineer.

💡Do you recognize yourself in this?

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Fluent in both French and English, both in speaking and writing.
• Possession of a valid driving license is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in various team roles during a project, including positions such as CAD specialist, executive, and team leader.
• Proficient in CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
• Solution-driven mindset
• Handyman/Handywoman skills
• Concern for environmental issues
• Result oriented: focus and 360 vision on a project.
