Flag Persons play a crucial role in road construction. They are responsible for their own safety, the safety of the work crew, and the safety of the travelling public. Flag persons control the movement of traffic through the workzone using hand signals, a stop/slow paddle, and radio communication. Under the direction of the Traffic Accommodation Supervisor, the Flag Person will also assist in setting up and taking down the workzone, signs, and help maintain the signs throughout the day. Other labour activities and regular cleaning is part of the duties. Must be willing to travel and overnight for 10 days on with 4 days off.
