About Capco

Capco is a global technology and business consultancy focused on the financial services sector. As part of Capco’s Digital practice, the Design team translates strategy into action, working across the product lifecycle to create and deliver digital innovations in partnership with our clients and their customers.

As a consultant Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) jobs, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of data across our systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to support data integration and transformation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions that align with business objectives.
• Utilize programming languages such as Scala and Python to build robust and scalable ETL workflows.
• Optimize and troubleshoot ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Implement and maintain data pipelines using technologies like Spark, AWS Glue, Lambda, and Athena.
• Work with databases, including PostgreSQL, to manage and manipulate data efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, Java SE or any other modern programming language.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field with 3- or 5-years’ experience
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena).
• Knowledge of relational databases, such as PostgreSQL.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Python or a similar language, with a preference for Scala.
• Experience with big data technologies, preferably Apache Spark.
• Experience in designing and implementing ETL processes.
• Knowledge of key technologies such as Spark, AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena), PostgreSQL, and Apache Airflow is highly appreciated.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and continuous integration
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
