With the agility of a fintech and support of the Sopra Steria group, [Sopra Banking Software](https://www.soprabanking.com/) designs tech solutions for financial institutions worldwide to provide services accessible to each of us, everywhere, anytime. As a leading financial technology company, our mission is to contribute to a better financial world.
Since 1968, we have strived to support financial institutions' digital transformation, leveraging our inherited domain expertise and the latest technologies.
In 2024, SBS creates its Digital Lending business unit by acquiring the French startup October with the vision to allow SMEs to benefit from a seamless financing experience via the deployment of a cost effective SaaS end-to-end lending solution for financial institutions.
Joining SBS Digital Lending is taking part in an entrepreneurial journey whilst joining a solid group. It is the occasion to instill an agile and dynamic mindset whilst leveraging years of experience in the SaaS and financing markets.
# Tech at SBS Digital Lending
We think reinventing financing is a massive tech challenge, that’s why we built October as a tech and data-driven startup. Today, 18 developers are working on building the best financing experience ever made, very closely to the Product team.
We love TypeScript at SBS Digital Lending. That’s why every part of our stack is based on JS: we use Node.js and MongoDB on the back-end, React.js on the web, and React Native on mobile. The platform runs on AWS, deployed using Terraform and GitHub Actions. You can take a look at our whole stack here: https://stackshare.io/october.
We believe in ownership and mentoring at SBS Digital Lending. By following good code practices and through code review, we make sure to deliver quality code and allow developers to grow their skills.
We follow the Scrum methodology: the Tech and Product teams are split in 3 squads, along with a DevSecOps platform team.
We currently have 3 people working on the infrastructure & data platform, and 15 developers eager to learn the DevOps best practices.
The security is a topic split across squads that everybody is responsible for, led by the Lead DevSecOps.

The DevSecOps has the role of leading the team delivery, making the team members grow.
We think great leads must be engineering experts before becoming management experts. Contributing to our infrastructure, codebase and security is part of your daily job.
Your time will be split between management (~30%) and development (~70%).
- Make sure the engineers in the team have everything they need to provide their best work, to deliver the best roadmap
