We work with 270+ clubs, leagues and federations – including Ligue 1 and Premier League clubs, NBA and NFL teams, the Tour de France, the Australian Open, and leading bodies like UEFA and FIBA – helping them turn every moment on and off the field into content that fuels their communities. Our platform brings all their media into one place and makes it effortless to find, edit and share in seconds.

Founded in 2021, we’re a 45-person team based between New York and Paris, growing 3x year over year with almost 100% retention. We’ve raised $20M+ from top investors including Alexis Ohanian and elite athletes like Kevin Durant, Raphaël Varane, Mario Götze, Nico Rosberg and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

If you’re passionate about sports and thrive in fast-paced environments - and you want to help shape how the next generation of fans experience sports, you’re in the right place. We’re on track to become the global leader in sports media, and this is definitely the best time to join our adventure.

💡 Overview

ScorePlay is scaling its operations and is looking for a Finance Operations Manager to own the company’s financial operating systems and build the foundations of a scalable finance function.

This is a high-ownership, execution-first role: you will personally run core finance operations (billing, payments, financial reporting), while also be responsible for designing and evolving the systems, processes, and cash mechanics that underpin day-to-day finance operations.

This role is not an FP&A or strategy role in the short term; success comes from running and improving core finance operations exceptionally well.

As the company scales, the role offers a clear path to broader finance leadership responsibilities.

🧠 What you’ll work on :

Revenue & Collections Operations

  • Own billing and invoicing end-to-end - from setup to reconciliation - ensuring invoices are accurate, timely, and aligned with contractual and operational inputs.

  • Own accounts receivable follow-up end-to-end, including escalation of prolonged non-payment in coordination with Sales and CS.

  • Continuously improve billing and collections processes to reduce delays, errors, and manual work.

Spend, Payments & Expense Management

  • Own execution and scheduling of vendor and payroll payments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and smooth cash outflows.

  • Define and maintain clear approval flows for payments and expenses, ensuring all payments and reimbursements are properly approved, traceable, and documented.

  • Own expense management end-to-end: policy clarity and updates, approvals and exception handling, reimbursements and tooling.

  • Maintain visibility over vendor, software, and expense spend, monitoring trends, flagging anomalies, and supporting renewals, cancellations, and spend rationalization as needed.

Cash & Liquidity Management

  • Maintain a clear view of cash across all accounts and actively manage liquidity to ensure timely funding of payroll, expenses, and obligations

  • Maintain a short-term cash outlook (e.g., 1-3 month horizon) and flag emerging risks early.

  • Support leadership with operational input on cash management decisions (e.g., timing, structuring, FX, and cash placement).

Financial Data, Reporting & Model Hygiene

  • Maintain monthly financial reporting by updating inputs in existing trackers and models, validating internal consistency, and proactively identifying errors or exceptions.

  • Maintain clean, reliable internal finance trackers and source-of-truth datasets, enabling regular internal views on cash, collections, and expenses by department and category.

  • Reconcile internal finance views with accounting outputs and investigate discrepancies.

Accounting, Compliance & Structural Finance Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact with our external accounting firm, ensuring timely access to accurate data, tracking deliverables, and aligning accounting outputs with internal finance views.

  • Own operational tax execution (e.g. sales tax, VAT, certificates, exemptions), ensuring correct tax treatment on invoices in coordination with external accountants.

  • Support entity-related topics as the company scales (e.g. entity creation, inter-company cost allocation mechanics, tax optimization).

Finance Systems, Tooling & Cross-Functional Enablement

  • Own the day-to-day operation of finance tools (billing, expenses, payroll, accounting interfaces).

  • Support selection and implementation of new finance tools as needed.

  • Continuously identify process gaps, inefficiencies, or risks, and document, automate, and improve finance processes and tooling to build a scalable, reliable finance operating system over time.

  • Partner with RevOps, People, and Legal on finance-related workflows and data dependencies.

🏆 Why ScorePlay ?

Here are a few signs you might love working at ScorePlay:

  • You want a role with real ownership where execution quality matters every day.

  • You like building the foundations of a fast-scaling company, not just maintaining an existing machine.

  • You’re excited by a path where you can grow into broader finance scope over 3–5 years, based on impact and readiness.

  • You enjoy being close to the business: Sales/Rev Ops, People, Legal, leadership, and external partners.

  • You want to join an international sports tech scale-up working with top clubs, leagues, and competitions globally.

🧩 What we’re looking for :

  • 2–5 years experience in finance operations, accounting, audit, or a startup finance role, in a fast-moving environment.

  • Strong operational finance foundation: familiarity with how billing, payments, expenses, and cash flows work in practice, and readiness to take ownership of these processes.

  • High comfort with spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel) to track, reconcile, and validate financial data.

  • Strong attention to detail and operational rigor; able to identify inconsistencies, errors, or anomalies and follow them through to resolution.

  • High ownership mindset: comfortable being the sole owner of a finance function and accountable for day-to-day outcomes.

  • Motivation to build, improve, and professionalize finance systems and processes over time.

  • Nice to have:

    • Prior experience working closely with external accountants or supporting periodic closes.

    • Experience working with finance tools such as billing platforms, expense tools, payroll providers, and accounting software.

We know many people hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every single requirement on a job description. If you’re interested in ScorePlay but not sure you tick all the boxes, we’d still love to hear from you, this could be the start of a great long-term collaboration.

We’re also committed to building a diverse, inclusive team where everyone feels safe and respected. ScorePlay is an equal opportunity employer: we welcome applications regardless of gender, sexual orientation, origin, disability, or any other aspect of what makes you, you. Different perspectives make us stronger, and a much more fun team to work with.
