Your role

As a Data Science Intern at Qantev, you will play a crucial role within our dynamic data science team, collaborating closely with our technical experts to develop and deploy innovative AI solutions that transform the health insurance landscape. You will have the opportunity to:

• Gain a deep understanding of health data and healthcare economy dynamics.

• Enhance our state-of-the-art OCR pipeline for processing large volumes of insurance claims data, aiming for improved accuracy and efficiency.

• Contribute to the development and optimization of our LLM and NLP pipelines for accurate and efficient medical coding inference.

• Refine and advance our machine learning models for fraud detection, leveraging advanced algorithms to identify complex patterns.

• Implement and optimize associated algorithms for performance and scalability.

• Research and implement best practices for testing and deploying our machine learning models at scale.

• Proactively identify and propose innovative ideas to enhance our existing products and develop new features, contributing directly to our product roadmap.

  • Acquérir une compréhension approfondie des données de santé et des dynamiques économiques du secteur médical.

  • Améliorer notre pipeline OCR de pointe pour le traitement de volumes importants de données de remboursements, en visant une meilleure précision et efficacité.

  • Contribuer au développement et à l’optimisation de nos pipelines LLM et NLP pour une inférence de codage médical précise et performante.

  • Implémenter et optimiser les algorithmes associés pour maximiser les performances et la scalabilité.

  • Rechercher et mettre en œuvre les meilleures pratiques pour tester et déployer nos modèles de machine learning à grande échelle.

  • Identifier et proposer de manière proactive des idées innovantes pour améliorer nos produits existants et développer de nouvelles fonctionnalités, en contribuant directement à notre feuille de route produit.

  • Au-delà de l’exploration d’idées prometteuses, les intégrer dans notre produit en écrivant du code de qualité, prêt pour la production.

Your profile

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who meets the following criteria:

• Seeking a 4-6 month internship starting from January 2026.

• Strong foundation in Applied Mathematics, with a focus on machine learning, probabilistic modeling, computer science, and/or operations research.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and pay close attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to write quality production code.

• Eager to engage with clients to understand their needs and integrate their feedback into your projects.

• Fluent in English.

  • Expected Skills

    • Initial experience (academic or personal) working on projects close to production, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles — especially regarding the integration of large-scale language models (LLMs).

    • Familiarity with major machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.

    • Basic knowledge of specialized libraries for LLM development, fine-tuning, and inference optimization, including Hugging Face Transformers and DeepSpeed.
