As a Data Business Intelligence Developer, you will assume a pivotal role within the ORIS organization, utilizing data, business intelligence best practices and tools to generate valuable insights and facilitate well-informed decision-making. Your responsibilities will cover the entire BI process, including data loading and processing, the development of key performance indicators, and the creation of dashboards with Tableau. You’ll collaborate with diverse teams to define project scopes and implement solutions, all while using agile principles and the kanban framework. This is a permanent position located in ORIS, with offices conveniently situated near Lyon’s Part Dieu train station, and a fantastic multicultural team to work alongside!

Data Visualization and reporting

• Design and develop dashboards, reports and visualizations, providing data insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Prepare business oriented datasets for ad-hoc analysis.

• Publish reports to internal and external customers, embed the reports in our SaaS platform, and manage user permissions

Data Collection, cleaning and transformation

• Gather data from various sources, such as databases, APIs, or web scraping.

• Organize and manage datasets in a datalake.

• Clean and preprocess data to ensure its accuracy and consistency, including handling missing values and outliers.

• Transform and aggregate data, create data models to support reporting and analysis.

Project Management and stakeholder collaboration

• Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.

• Scope, plan, and execute BI projects to meet deadlines and objectives.

• Train business users and colleagues to effectively use BI solutions

Data Analysis

• Explore the datasets and identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

• Define and track Key Performance Indicators to assess the performance of various business processes and departments.

• Provide actionable insights to stakeholders based on data analysis.

Strategic Guidance and continuous improvement

• Stay updated on the latest business intelligence methodologies, tools and technologies.

• Promote the use of indicators and a data-driven culture

Technical stack required with 2+ years experience

• Data collection, transformation and storage : Python, AWS solutions AWS (ETL Glue, S3, Athena), PostgreSQL, Tableau Prep

• Visualization and dashboarding : Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server

• Project methodology : Jira, Google Apps, Confluence

Required:

• Advanced skills in BI tool Tableau Desktop

• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

• Advanced skills in data modeling, data warehousing concepts 

• Knowledge of ETL processes and tools for data integration and transformation, such as AWS Glue.

• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and analysis.

• Skills for data retrieval and manipulation in SQL, with databases (relational and NoSQL) like PostgreSQL

Nice to have:

• Knowledge or experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with agile principles and frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban for project management.

• Familiarity with Tableau Server/Cloud and user rights 

• Familiarity with AWS and its core services management

• Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, machine learning concepts and their application in BI for predictive analytics.

• Knowledge of Git and comfortable in working with branches, merging code, and resolving conflicts.

• Contribution to open source projects / Participation in hackathons or data challenges

• Ability to integrate data from external sources using APIs

Professional experience

• 2 to 5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence developer, Data Analyst or in a similar role.

Education

• Master degree in Information Technology, Data management, Business Analytics or Data science
