We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

As a Project Proposals Specialist, you will report directly to the Business DevelopmentDirector. This position will function as the central hub for preparing, coordinating, and submitting competitive proposals for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects — including data centers, renewable energy facilities, manufacturing plants, utilities, and heavy industry.

GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION 

One of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalading the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems and services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers.

The Project Proposals Specialist is a key individual contributor within the Business Development organization working closely with our partner distributors and internal engineering, commercial, and operations teams, manage the end-to-end bid process — from initial RFQ receipt through final submission — ensuring alignment across multiple manufacturers, suppliers, and channel partners to deliver comprehensive, accurate, and on-time proposals.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Proposal Development & Submission

  • Lead the preparation and submission of detailed proposals for electrical cable supply on complex industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • Review RFQs, specifications, and project documentation to ensure accurate interpretation of technical, commercial, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and structure competitive quotations in coordination with pricing, engineering, and product management teams. He/she liaises with Sales in developing the pricing approach for each tender which needs to be linked to contractual terms and conditions.
  • Ensure all technical data sheets, certifications, and submittal documentation are complete and aligned with project specifications.

Bid Process & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Act as the primary coordinator between internal stakeholders, manufacturing plants, and select partner distributors to compile comprehensive bid packages.
  • Align inputs from multiple manufacturing sites to build consolidated proposals that meet project timelines and commercial requirements.
  • Support distributor partners by providing product selection guidance, pricing strategies, and technical documentation during the tender phase.
  • Track bid progress, manage timelines, and proactively communicate updates and requirements to all stakeholders.

Customer & Partner Engagement

  • Serve as a key point of contact for distributor partners during the proposal and bid cycle.
  • Support field sales and business development teams with proposal-related insights, documentation, and follow-ups.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, clarification requests, and post-submission reviews as required.

Process Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate records of bid submissions, outcomes, pricing data, and competitive intelligence in CRM and internal systems.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline proposal workflows and improve response times.
  • Support the development of standardized templates, pricing models, and documentation libraries.

You will be expected to:

  • Increase in project sales revenue and CM%
  • Reduced time to quote for non-stock and project tenders
  • Enact controlled process for bid and channel management

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE ?

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and proposal management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary education in business, engineering, or technical marketing
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B inside sales, proposals, or quotation roles — ideally in the electrical products, industrial distribution, or construction sectors
  • Strong understanding of the electrical supply chain and industrial project sales cycles.
  • Proven experience working with channel/distributor partners and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
