📍 Role based in France

As Legal and Compliance Counsel at Allianz Direct, you will be part of a small international Legal and Compliance team that will advise the management and the business regarding all legal-related topics.

Your main mission will to take care of all questions and processes related to our French branch. Therefore, we will be looking for a colleague with broad legal knowledge and experience who will dare to work on new areas of law. However, there will be a focus on insurance (insurance distribution) and contract law, as well as on Governance topics. 

For Compliance, your role will be to ensure that Allianz Direct adheres to the Group's compliance governance principles. The Compliance Function within Allianz Direct will strive for effective and efficient compliance processes supported by global tools and solutions.

 

Your mission in the Legal team:

Your direct reporting line will be to the CEO/Branch Head in France. You will serve as the primary expert in legal and compliance matters within Allianz Direct France, offering thorough analysis and insights.

Moreover, you will be an integral part of the international Legal & Compliance team, with a functional reporting structure to the Head of Legal and the Head of Compliance at Allianz Direct. Serving as a crucial business partner and liaison with the regulator, you will provide support to all departments in navigating legal and compliance issues and fostering their growth and development.

     

      What do we recommend to be successful?

      • You are a Fully qualified French lawyer;
      • You have 2-4 years of experience in a regulated industry or law firm (financial/insurance sector preferably);
      • You have English and French oral and written communication skills;
      • You have substantial corporate legal expertise with good knowledge of the relevant regulations and associated risks;
      • You have a strong business focus, with experience leading a similar function;
      • You have a driven and resourceful mindset with an ability to lead and implement simple and clear solutions;
      • You have a good risk appetite and a pragmatic approach;
      • You can develop, foster, and maintain effective working relationships with many different groups of people with different cultures.
