Wanna join the adventure?
As an RF Systems Engineer at Loft Orbital, you will play a pivotal role in the integration of RF subsystems for our high-reliability satellite systems. You work with our RF team across campuses to collaboratively develop, integrate, and test sub-system and system-level solutions for our satellites. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the success of our space mission.
You’ll join a talented, multi-disciplinary team working on the latest space technology, where your contributions will directly shape the future of space missions. This is an exciting opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and make a significant impact on mission-critical systems.
About this Role:
System-Level RF Architecture & Design - Contribute to the definition of end-to-end RF system architecture and requirements, ensuring compatibility with mission constraints and performance goals.End-to-End Performance Analysis - Perform RF link budget analysis and system-level trade-offs to evaluate performance under various mission scenarios.Requirements Engineering / Traceability - Support requirements definition, flow-down, and traceability from mission-level needs to RF subsystem specifications.Test Campaign Support - Support the execution of RF test campaigns with our AIT teams, including test planning, documentation, and reporting of verification results.Scripts, Tools and Simulation - Ability to develop scripts and low-level software for debugging and test purposes (proficiency in Python and C is a strong asset). Utilize modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, CST, ADS) to validate designs and predict system performance.Cross-functional Communication - Act as a technical interface between RF, software, mechanical, system, Ground and AIT teams to ensure smooth integration and alignment with program objectives.Must Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred2+ years of experience in Radio Frequency subsystem integrationProven experience in RF system integration, debugging and performance analysisDemonstrated autonomy in leading system and SW integrationKnowledge of S-band and X-band frequency communicationsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsNice to Haves:
Experience in Signal Processing algorithmsProficiency in link budget calculations and antenna simulationsFamiliarity with design principles related to EMI shielding, grounding, and RF signal integrityExperience with simulation tools for EMI/EMC and RF analysis.Experience using CST (RF Simulation), ADS (design) tools. Some of Our Awesome Benefits:

Who We Are
Loft: Space Made Simple.
Founded in 2017, Loft provides governments, companies, and research institutions with a fast, reliable, and simple way to deploy missions in orbit.
We integrate, launch, and operate spacecraft, offering end-to-end missions as a service across Earth observation, IoT connectivity, on-orbit AI, national security missions, and more. Leveraging our existing space infrastructure and an extensive inventory of satellite buses, Loft is reducing years-long integration and launch timelines to months. With more than 30 missions flown, Loft’s flight heritage and proven technologies enable customers to focus on their mission objectives.
With a growing fleet on track to reach 30 satellites by 2027, we are scaling up quickly across our offices in San Francisco, CA | Golden, CO | and Toulouse, France to meet accelerating demand for space infrastructure.
As an international company your resume will be reviewed by people across our offices so please attach a copy in English.
