Role overview

We are seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to join our small but impactful team. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a vital part in various finance activities across all areas of our operations. Reporting directly to the UK CFO, you'll take on a broad and diverse role with responsibilities ranging from regulatory compliance to process improvement.

This role would be either remote or hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of UK regulatory and statutory financial statements.
• Manage and deliver external regulatory reporting requirements, including Solvency II reporting (including the SFCR) for a start up insurance company
• Handle corporation tax, VAT, and IPT returns, ensuring compliance and identifying recovery opportunities.
• Support the UK CFO in preparing and signing off on UK GAAP financial results and statements.
• Lead and develop the reporting team, driving process transformation and cross-skilling.
• Respond to audit queries, maintain records, and liaise with business teams on data quality issues to meet UK reporting obligations.

Requirements:

• Qualified ACA or equivalent with insurance industry experience.
• Operational experience with UK GAAP and Solvency II.
• Proven experience preparing and reviewing Solvency II and tax returns.
• Proficiency in Solvency II reporting software, specifically FS Assist.
• Self starter with strong leadership skills with an agile and flexible mindset, effective communication, attention to detail, comfortable with change, and deliver on multiple priorities within a small team.
