Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist

(Fixed-term | 12 months | Hybrid | Cluj)

What’s the job?

Role Purpose

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is ultimately responsible for sourcing, attracting and screening high quality candidates for the Group Technology in a timely and cost-effective manner. Taking full ownership of the candidate journey through Kingfisher, ensuring they have a positive experience! You will be part of a great TA team who work across locations but closely together to deliver results. This role will primarily focus on hiring for Technology and Digital roles, while also supporting recruitment across other business functions as required. Operating in a start-up-like local environment, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in shaping and structuring recruitment processes locally

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Building relationships with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to understand the recruitment needs of specific functions in terms of actual gaps and talent pipeline

• Define recruitment needs into a campaign brief and sourcing strategy

• Owning and delivering the full resourcing cycle for finding the best talent

• Through specialist recruitment expertise utilise a suite of online and traditional tools to source and attract high quality candidates for vacancies and to create a proactive talent pool

• Owning the customer experience from application through to their exit point in the recruitment process

• Build local and specialist knowledge about the area and roles recruiting for and share with the appropriate internal stakeholders

• Measure the effectiveness of specific recruitment campaigns and utilise and share learning for future briefs

• Ensure audit compliance of recruitment process such as maintaining accurate data, obtaining right to work documentation, always ensuring GDPR compliance

Additional Responsibilities (Start-Up & Process Ownership Focus)

Lead and structure the end-to-end recruitment process locally, ensuring clear workflows, stakeholder alignment, and consistent hiring standards

• Design, implement, and continuously improve recruitment processes, templates, documentation, and governance frameworks suitable for a growing, start-up-style environment

• Source, evaluate, and manage external recruitment vendors and background screening providers where required

• Coordinate and oversee pre-employment background checks, employment verification, and reference processes in compliance with company policy and local regulations

• Collaborate with external recruiting agencies, negotiate terms where appropriate, and ensure agency performance meets agreed quality and delivery standards

• Partner closely with other recruiting teams across the Group to align processes, share best practices, and ensure consistency across markets

• Provide market intelligence for Technology roles including salary benchmarking, competitor mapping, and talent availability insights

• Support workforce planning discussions and advise stakeholders on hiring strategy, timelines, and sourcing approaches

• Contribute to employer branding initiatives and enhance candidate attraction strategies within the local market

• Track and report recruitment metrics, identifying bottlenecks and proposing data-driven improvements

What you’ll bring

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous direct sourcing recruitment experience, gained within an inhouse or agency environment

• Proven experience of partnering with stakeholders and building effective and trusted relationships

• Confident in sourcing high quality candidates through techniques such as CV mining, advertising, LinkedIn sourcing, networking, social media and briefing 3rd parties as appropriate

• Able to understand the needs of internal and external customers and ensure the customer/candidate is at the forefront of thinking

• Strong communication skills when working across our multiple stakeholders

• Proven experience recruiting for Technology roles (e.g., Software Engineering, DevOps, Data, Product, Infrastructure), with the ability to assess technical profiles effectively

• Experience operating in a fast-paced or scaling/start-up environment, ideally with exposure to building recruitment processes from scratch

• Experience managing recruitment agencies and third-party vendors

• Familiarity with background screening processes and employment verification requirements

• Strong organisational skills and ability to operate with autonomy in an evolving and less structured environment
