Hero aims to create top-tier e-banking solutions tailored for European digital merchants. Now that we have obtained our Payment Institution License in France, we are seeking an expert in the payment domain (cards & payment acceptance) to join our team.
As a Product Manager for Payments, you will join the Product team led by our Head of Product & Strategy and work closely with the developers within your squad, as well as your stakeholders. You will be responsible for defining and driving the strategy for card issuing, payment acceptance, and the overall user experience on this solution.

As a Product Manager – Payments, your missions will be to:
Define and lead the product strategy for Card Issuing and Payment Acceptance, aligned with company vision and growth objectives, while navigating complex technical and regulatory constraints.
Own the end-to-end Card Issuing lifecycle, including card order, personalization, shipping, activation, PIN management, and tokenization (Apple Pay / Google Pay).
Drive the design, improvement, and reliability of core card payment flows, including authorizations, clearing & settlement, disputes and chargebacks.
Ensure compliance with card scheme rules (Visa / Mastercard), and contribute to pricing, interchange understanding, and commercial impacts.
Continuously improve merchant-facing card experiences, from activation to daily usage, with a strong focus on UX and operational robustness.
Design and deliver Payment Acceptance solutions (TPE, Tap to Pay, and future payment methods) from discovery to production.
Lead integrations with PSPs and acquirers, and own acceptance-related merchant journeys (onboarding, configuration, usage).
Own the operational implications of payments, including reconciliation, reporting, and downstream impacts on Ops and Finance teams.
Identify high-impact opportunities by acting as the internal reference on payment trends, leveraging deep market research and competitive analysis to fuel the product roadmap.
Lead the entire product lifecycle for your squad, from making data-driven decisions on backlog prioritization to writing crystal-clear specs, ensuring a perfect balance between delivery speed, robustness, and compliance.
Own product performance with an uncompromising focus on impact, continuously tracking key KPIs (activation, usage, operational costs, and payment revenues). You will turn technical performance and customer feedback into actionable insights to reduce incidents and maximize business value.
Drive end-to-end execution and cross-functional alignment, collaborating closely with Tech and Design to ship high-quality features, while mobilizing Risk, Compliance, Sales, and Ops teams to ensure seamless go-to-market and rollout.
Your Hero Profile? 🦸
You have 7+ years of professional experience with at least 4 years as a Product Manager in a Fintech environment (fintech, payments, crypto, or financial infrastructure)
Solid understanding (or proven ability to ramp up quickly) on:
card issuing / payment cards, payment flows, authorizations, chargebacks, interchange
payment acceptance (TPE, tap-to-pay, payment links), acquiring side
Able to craft and execute a product strategy, translating it into clear OKRs and delivering against them.
Problem-solver, you are able to structure and deliver complex projects with a high ownership mindset, impact- and execution-driven.
Data-driven, you perform ongoing data analysis to inform strategic decisions and ensure alignment with KPIs and OKRs.
Fluency in both English and French is mandatory
