Creating our broader operational excellence strategy for our production teams, that is your main focus as Team Lead within HelloFresh.

You have the ability to lead a team of analysts and shop floor colleagues, and use your experience in designing and applying operational processes optimization frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM and other process modeling/ re-engineering tools). Ideally you have some experience in a manufacturing environment and both English (must have) and Dutch (nice to have) communication skills.

Your opportunityFor our ambitious, fast growing team in Bleiswijk (near Zoetermeer), we are looking for an Operational Excellence Team Lead Production. Working in the Production team you take a leading role in raising our operational excellence capabilities at our distribution centers.

As an Operational Excellence Team Lead Production, your focus will be on creating our broader operational excellence strategy together with our central operational excellence team and cascade this into our distribution centers.

Furthermore you will focus on training and developing operational excellence analysts and shop floor personnel. Secondly you will work of course on improvement opportunities, focussed on error and cost reduction, and process improvements.

You’ll be working on both leading a team of talented people and work on optimizing the improvement framework:

Leadership & collaboration

  • Lead the production operational excellence team and enable them with your experience and knowledge of lean, six sigma and other methodologies;
  • Help create and oversee the production operational excellence roadmap and prioritization in close collaboration with the central operational excellence teams;
  • Collaborate with the operational excellence team from Amsterdam in developing internal tools and taking ownership of our operational excellence training curriculum;
  • Promote a learning and continuous improvement culture for our shop floor and office personnel.

Improvement of current and future processes

  • Lead process standardization across sites and determine highest value process improvement opportunities through process mapping, and formulate plans to materialize such opportunities;
  • Deliver quality, efficiency, and capacity performance targets across multiple sites through operational excellence initiatives, while ensuring a safe work environment;
  • Lead incident assessments and facilitate root cause analysis in order to prevent issues from reoccurring.

What you’ll bring to the team

As our Team Lead you are a strong communicator and know how to set up and finish mid-to-large projects successfully, and how to create support with stakeholders reaching consequences. You solve problems on-the-go in a fast-paced environment.

Besides these qualities, you have the following skills on paper:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in Operational Excellence (or similar disciplines) or Supply Chain Management (preferably acquired in a consultancy environment);
  • Experience in Manufacturing Operations, Quality Operations and/ or Technical Operations is a plus;
  • Experience in designing and applying operational processes optimization frameworks such as Lean Management, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM and other process modeling/ re-engineering tools;
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating improvement workshops and roots cause analysis events;
  • A certified Black Belt is a strong plus;
  • Fluent in English. Dutch is a plus.

As a team lead you also have the following qualities:

  • Strong business sense and experience in managing stakeholders across different levels. Also it would be great if you have plenty of experience of engaging with shop floor personnel to C-Level;
  • Superior data analysis and problem-solving skills (incl. data crunching / process analysis);
  • You don’t shy away from a challenge and are able to perform in a fast-paced and continuously changing work environment. You’re pro-active, ambitious, and make things happen.
