Requisitos

About the PhD position

A PhD at Elvesys has nothing to do with a typical PhD. You will be immersed in a start-up with a strong entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.

Your mission

To bring a new product to the market before the end of your PhD. Besides the science, you will learn how to identify a market, get in touch with end-users, and translate their needs and requirements into a real product that can be sold by our brand Elveflow.

This experience will allow you to learn the basics of entrepreneurship and market-driven research.

The scientific project

Development and implementation of closed loop microfluidic circuits for new generation Imaging Flow Cytometry, including instrumentation surpassing the state-of-the-art with high precision pressure control for the delivery of cell samples in suspension. Development of a microfluidic system for flow-through surface functionalization of microdevices with novel polymers having refractive index matching that of water.

Your profile to become the rockstar of the team

➔ You have a masters degree (or equivalent) in engineering (mechatronics, robotics, engineering physics etc.)

➔ Fluency in English

➔ Ideally experience with one or more of the following:

  • Knowledge of control theory, implementation

  • Python

  • Process chemistry

  • CFD simulations

  • 3D CAD

➔ Ideally knowledge of French, but not required.

➔ You are scientifically rigorous, creative and practical.

➔ You can think “outside the box” to find simple solutions to complicated problems, you are not afraid to tackle complex problems.

➔ You don’t like routine, and you’re able to quickly adapt to changes in direction.

➔ You want a job that makes sense, want to see the outcome of your PhD in the real world and not only on a lab shelf.

At Elvesys, we like: Action; creative, autonomous and curious people, team players. Those who act more than they talk, people who challenge themselves and yet care about others. Those who question themselves, those who want an intense and contrasted life. Those who bring us treats.
