We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Governance team. Data Governance at Doctolib ensures company-wide data is easily accessible, compliant, and trustworthy, while enabling advanced analytics and AI through robust governance foundations.

This Data Engineer role will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing the implementation of governance standards along Doctolib’s data value chain. He/She will report to the Head of Data Governance. Together with its functional teammate, the Data Engineer will be the link between several interlocutors notably Data Engineers from other data teams, Data Product Managers, Feature Teams (main data producers), architects and legal officers.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with engineers across Doctolib’s data value chain to implement and automate data governance standards.
- Design and enforce governance practices for SaaS data sources, ensuring compliance and consistency.
- Maintain and ensure the availability of key metadata (ownership, sensitivity, documentation, etc.) in the Unified Healthcare Data Platform (UHDP).
- Develop and implement medical-specific taxonomies and ontologies to structure data semantically.
- Promote standardization and interoperability for metadata and data models throughout the organization.
- Lead the technical development and lifecycle of the Coalesce Catalog, integrating new data sources and supporting the transition to a modular data architecture.
- Oversee the implementation of data lineage for SaaS sources and design monitoring to ensure catalog accuracy and reliability.
- Build, maintain, and own Metabase dashboards and the underlying data pipelines to monitor data governance effectively.

Who you are

You could be our next team mate if you:
- Have at least 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, ideally with experience in Data Architecture processes so as to work with Architects in Tech & Product domain.
- Proven experience on cloud providers - ideally GCP and Cloud AWS
- Eager to be hands on with our stack mastering SQL, Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, Github, dbt, Airflow, Metabase, BigQuery
- Have good knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, healthcare data) and practices, notably pseudonymization / anonymization in practice
- Already worked in a fast-growing and rapidly changing environment
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both French and English
Now, it would be fantastic if you:
- Are familiar with Ruby on Rails or JavaScript
- Are familiar with the healthcare industry
- Have experience or at least knowledge of data mesh in practice or federated data platform
