The company has recently initiated the commercialization of its first EDS powered platform, the SYNTAX system.

The Role

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to build, lead and execute our direct and indirect sourcing strategy. .

You will be responsible for defining the short and long term strategy, making it actionable, implement it and managing processes, in support of the company’s strategy and objectives. In order to be successful, you will need to work across the company on a global setting. You will be responsible to secure the supply contracts of key suppliers to ensure the continuous activities of Manufacturing Operations. You will negotiate purchase conditions, implement supplier agreements, and improve their performance. You will lead CAPEX projects for the Manufacturing Operations team and you will work closely with the Quality Assurance team to support suppliers’ approval and re-evaluation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead the procurement strategy: define and secure DNA Script’s key suppliers
  • Work with suppliers to ensure implementation of sourcing strategy in accordance with DNA Script’s guidelines. Directly solve operational issues with suppliers (e.g., quality, delivery and service issues). Be responsible for holding regular supplier reviews
  • Ensure business continuity by study and propose back-up solution and second source.
  • Devise long-term strategies aimed to reduce raw material landed costs while satisfying a continuous and steady supply
  • Execute strategies and tactics to achieve best results regarding pricing, logistics, inventory, and payment terms with vendors
  • Be responsible for negotiating, securing and executing the supply contracts of key suppliers to ensure the continuous activities of Manufacturing Operations.
  • Manage and approve suppliers based on ISO 13845:2016 requirements (supplier agreement, audit, re-evaluation processes …)
  • Remain current with market trends through relationships with suppliers, market experts and ensure that we have a process to gain access/familiarity with emerging supplier capabilities
  • Uphold internal and external policies, regulations, contracts management and laws
  • Manage CAPEX project for the Manufacturing Operations activities
  • Support and assist other departments to ensure efficient flow of purchasing transactions throughout the company
  • Report periodically summary results and defined KPIs to head of Manufacturing Operations
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, cooperation, cross functional inclusion, execution excellence, effective communication and cross-functional problem-solving to become a high-performing team.

Experience & skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or equivalent desirable A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the field and proven hands-on experience with procurement and purchasing
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills – able to construct/execute advanced cost analyses (e.g TCO, NPV; cost-price analyses) simultaneously
  • Good judgment in vendor selection
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP software desired (NetSuite / Oracle)
  • Effective team player who possesses strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Sense of urgency as to objectives and timelines, while maintaining flexibility to shifting priorities
  • Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations. Strong organizational, analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Fluent English speaker and excellent communication skills

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar position in a biotech and/or life science company
  • Previous experience in ISO certified environment
