About BlaBlaCar

Your Mission

We are looking for a confirmed Backend Engineer to join the Booking team at BlaBlaCar. Their mission is to optimize our multimodal (Carpool, Bus, and Train supplies) booking and checkout experience for passengers, by integrating and unifying multiple heterogeneous inventory sources from external partners.

As confirmed Backend Engineer, your role will be to work on technical challenges and product feature developments from early-stage  conception, to development, testing strategy, deployment in production and monitoring. You will be working with a full-stack team of 10 developers. 

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the development of our new impactful features, from the early technical design to the actual rollout
  • Take part in the design definition of the services and their APIs to ensure they are scalable, robust and easy to use by Frontend developers
  • Interact with multiple business, product and engineering stakeholders from different roles, backgrounds and culture
  •  You’re definitely a team player, being eager to share and learn from your teammates and to grow altogether as a team
  • Your qualifications

  • You have 3+ years of experience from companies with a strong engineering culture, within a growth context
  • You are fluent in Java and know frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, and Mockito
  • You have hands-on experience with Git, Docker, and Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions (Datadog)
  • You know what service-oriented architecture looks like, and you can determine when to apply a given architectural pattern
  • You have good communication skills, you’re humble and you're a team player
  • You are able  to take ownership, aligned with business priorities 
  • Full working proficiency in English
