Your Mission

We are looking for a Carpool Pricing & Business Manager to join the Western Europe Business team at BlaBlaCar. The WE Business team’s mission is to foment carpool long-term sustainable growth and customer satisfaction in our largest historical markets such as France, Spain, Italy or Germany. The team is responsible for performance monitoring, business strategy definition, revenue management and ancillaries (specifically, BlaBlaCar Insurance product). The team also collaborates and coordinates with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Customer Service teams to ensure business objectives are reached.

As a Carpool Pricing and Business Manager, your role will be to maximize revenues of the carpool marketplace through the pricing lever. Beyond pricing, you act as an internal entrepreneur, looking for growth opportunities to develop the business. Both pricing and growth require a good mix of solid hard quantitative analytical skills and outstanding project management capacities to collaborate with Product, Engineering and Marketing teams. You will also be in charge of developing the carpool insurance product and of the relationship with the associated external business partners as well as internal stakeholders.

You will be reporting to the Head of Business Western Europe.

Your responsibilities

  • On the pricing side, leveraging analytical skills (i.e. via Excel, Tableau, etc.), look for pockets of revenue opportunities, define pricing strategies accordingly, and ensure timely execution. Take the in-house (and recent) BlaBlaCar marketplace revenue management systems to the next level. Lead tests to validate hypotheses (i.e. A/B test, before/after, etc.).
  • Beyond pricing, leveraging business acumen, deep dive into growth opportunities  (i.e. partnerships, product features, events, etc.) and challenges across multiple countries (with a strong focus on France, Spain, Germany, Italy). Become an internal entrepreneur, identify growth levers and build Business Plans to support prioritization exercise.
  • Lead delivery of business and pricing projects by ensuring rigorous project management as well as a clear communication and cross-team coordination. Main internal stakeholders include Product, Tech, Data and Marketing teams.
  • Own and develop the BlaBlaCar carpool insurance ancillary product in collaboration with external business partners.
  • Your qualifications

  • Business/Data analytics and/or Revenue management quantitative skills (Expert level in any analytical tool: Excel, Tableau…)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strong growth / business acumen
  • Project management skills with a track record of having managed projects dealing with technical / engineering / marketing profiles
  • Written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Full working proficiency in English

  • Nice to have: Pricing and revenue management experience; Insurance expertise / knowledge
