Within the Group, you will join the Group Underwriting Office.

Within this Department, you will be part of the Group Underwriting P&C Commercial team.

Job Purpose

In order to drive Underwriting technical excellence and sustainable growth of earnings, the GUO P&C Commercial has organized its missions along several pillars comprising (i) governance, controls, referrals and breaches (ii) reviews (In-depth reviews, Technical Reviews, Deep Dive reviews) (iii) Product expertise (Clear project, communities, CoEs, expert networks (iv) Natural Events Project (v) UW climate & sustainability (vi) steer portfolio  shift (build an UW Entity QBR, support to PMP, Entities’ strategic initiatives support, strat plan definition review and roll out follow up).

GUO missions are diverse and led via separate interactions with AXA entities via multiple separate points of contact along the year. These expert workstreams and missions with entities will continue. However, top management would benefit of one single 360 forum to provide, per entity and with the entity, the necessary visibility on all those workstreams in order to make sure UWing actions and reviews’ recommendations are rolled out according to plan and bear fruit, or increase speed of delivery where needs be.

The Business Performance Analyst will contribute to the definition, test (first at Group level then with elected entities), plan and roll out a Quarterly Business Review process (QBR) to be led with GUO and entities P&C, addressing each entity Underwriting and Business Performance and UWing actions in a summarized 360-like score-card so to gather in one forum on a regular basis all matters of importance for UWing per entity. He/she will also be supporting the IDR planning & coordination for P&C Commercial.

He/she will report to the Business Performance Senior Manager.

 Dimension

The perimeter :

  • Group P&C premiums represent about €45 billion including Retail Lines and Commercial Lines (including AXA XL)
  • More than 20 AXA entities around the world generating P&C Retail and Commercial business.

Key accountabilities

In partnership with P&C entities, Commercial Lines communities, GUO and Group functions, the Business Performance Analyst will support the Business Performance Senior Manager to define, structure, syndicate, test (internally and then with elected entities), make, plan and roll out/perform Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) addressing each entity Business Performance and UWing actions in a summarized 360-like score-card, notably along the following dimensions (list indicative – to be defined and structured by the role herself/himself) :

  • Market update/ Peers benchmark
  • Financials YTD summary (based on latest MBR per entity)
  • PMP / Cycle management (in collaboration with PMP Dept)
  • Follow-up of UWing actions Plan roll out
  • Definition of next year’s plan underwriting actions and related measurable KPIs on Nat Cat load, CoR, ECR…
  • Focus on Nat Cat Project progress
  • Underperformance areas, reviews & remediation UW actions
  • UW Climate and sustainability actions/KPI
  • IDR/TR/DDR reports and Mgt action plan roll out
  • CLEAR implementation
  • Breaches and mitigation plan follow-up
  • GUC referral subjectivities closure
  • Data/AI local  initiatives in Underwriting
  • Reinsurance
  • Entity’s ask to GUO or other function
  • AOB

The Business Performance Analyst will:

  • Work in partnership with entities, communities and functions to access, analyze and rely on all existing work at Group and entity level so to maximize the use of existing regularly-updated materials.
  • Interact and influence with all business experts in entities or Group so to identify, mitigate and anticipate any road block in Strat Plan roll out of the entities.
  • Make elected entity’s QBR document.
  • Draft and circulate minutes of each QBR; follow-up from one QBR to the next all minuted action points and make sure to report on those points at next QBR.
  • Help highlighting precisely in each QBR the delivery dates expected for each item, “who/what/by when”.
  • Help planning along the year all QBR sessions with all relevant stakeholders.

Requisitos

  • You have an in-depth comprehensive knowledge of P&C business operations including Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, Reserves and Reinsurance, enabling to have a thorough understanding of business insurance rationale, processes and profitability and any potential P&C risk.
  • You have at least 5 years experience with expertise in project management
  • You have a track record of reliably delivering projects that span multiple teams and functions
  • You think, act, and communicate clearly and expertly in a multicultural and multi-function environment
  • You have the emotional intelligence to navigate multiple projects, collaborate across multiple stakeholders and engage with senior management
  • You have strong values of mutual support, team spirit, humility
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high energy environment and are comfortable with navigating uncertainty
  • You have demonstrated a strong capacity to learn quickly and develop yourself, you are unphased in front of complex info and can deep dive to understand it
  • You use a data driven approach to define a problem statement, develop, and define strategies and structure the path forward

Technical and professional skills:

  • Easy manipulation of complex financial figures (Current Year Combined Ratio, All Years Combined Ratio, Economic Combined Ratio, attritional LR, GWP, GEP, Short Term Economic Capital, …) connected to insurance activity monitoring
  • Highly disciplined Project management skills.
  • Proficient use of Powerpoint

Soft skills:

  • Natural leadership,
  • Able to deliver high-level presentation in front of senior management or entities CEOs
  • Agility to work in a multifaceted P&C world (Local vs Group, Small vs Large entities, worldwide underwriting cultures),
