Position Overview:

As part of our continuous growth and to support the development and industrialisation of our first product, we are looking for a hands-on and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Consumable development team. Astraveus’ microfluidic consumable is at the core of the company’s innovative approach to solve cell therapy challenges. In this role, you will take part to the definition of the architecture of the consumable and be responsible for its CAD implementation and prototyping. You will participate to the consumable mechanical and fluidic validation testing and work with our internal production team (Foundry team) to transfer the validated designs. You will bring mechanical expertise to the team and help reinforce good practices for design change control and design review.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Take part in specification writing and architecture development.

  • Mechanical design of microfluidic plastic consumables, including CAD (Fusion 360), interfacing with the Instrument team, Foundry team and Fluidic integration group.

  • Prototyping, including machining, laser cutting, 3D printing, assembly.

  • Perform parts and assemblies troubleshooting and validation testing.

  • Take part to design concepts investigation studies.

  • Take part to the development of QC jigs and protocols, in collaboration with the Foundry team.

  • Take part to the industrialization of the consumable, in collaboration with the Foundry team.

  • Help develop and observe good practices for design documentation, change control and review.

  • Produce reporting on experiments and observations.


Requisitos

Technical skills & experience:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, with specialisation in mechanics, mechatronics, microfluidics, biotechnologies or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design of complex assemblies, ideally for plastic parts

  • Experience with plastic part Design For Manufacturing (machining, embossing, injection molding, 3D printing)

  • Qualified in 3D design tools and 2D drawings realization

  • Experience in microfluidics is a plus

  • Experience in product industrialization is a plus

  • Proficient in English

  • Creativity, ability to propose solutions to challenges

  • Hands-on, taste for prototyping

  • Autonomous and communicative
