Artefact Benelux in Utrecht is looking for an ambitious Senior Data Engineering Consultant to strengthen our Data Engineering team.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for:

• Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines with a focus on scalability, performance, and observability.
• Design and optimize robust data models to support analytical and operational use cases.
• Implement data quality and security checks to ensure data trustworthiness.
• Explore and evaluate new tools and technologies to improve speed, scale, and data reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable Python and SQL code using best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and deliver value-driven solutions.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team’s technical growth.

What We Are Looking For

We’re seeking someone who has:

• Fluency in English (mandatory); Dutch or French is a plus.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent), in Data Engineer or similar role
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with a focus on production-quality code.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT workflows and data warehousing principles.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS, or Databricks) (Professional Certification is a plus).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
