THE COMPANY

ArianeGroup is a leading European company for space activities. The company is Prime contractor for the Ariane 6 launcher system and has the full range of capabilities to design and develop all types of launcher systems for space transportation and defence. It also supplies a broad portfolio of equipment and services for space and defence (including propulsion for launchers, satellite and space vehicles, space surveillance systems, etc.) and for other sectors in the industry.

ArianeGroup is equally owned by Airbus and Safran and is the majority shareholder of Arianespace, the entity which markets and operates the European launcher Ariane 6 from the European Spaceport in French Guiana and is the shareholder of MaiaSpace which develops the first European reusable mini launcher.

The Group (ArianeGroup and subsidiaries) employs over 8,000 people, including 7,200 within ArianeGroup. In Germany, ArianeGroup GmbH employs 1,100 people; main sites are located in Bremen (Land Bremen), Ottobrunn (Land Bavaria) and Lampoldshausen (Land Baden-Württemberg).

THE ROLE

The Corporate Communication Directorate determines and manages internal and external communication strategy at all levels and the channels and tools for its delivery, and provides advice and leadership on all aspects related to communication. It is organised in five departments: External communication, brand & image, Internal and proximity communication, Corporate media relations, Information & contents and Digital and multimedia.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to lead at corporate level the Information & contents department, as a member of the Communication directorate's management board. The department is responsible for defining, formalising and implementing editorial policies in close collaboration with Internal and External communication, coordinating editorial production and producing cold and hot contents for internal and external channels (Intranet, website) in English, French and German. To this end, you will define and manage the related processes, dashboards and KPIs, and you will qualify and manage editorial production and translation agencies and suppliers. The department is as well in charge of producing releases, presentations and printed materials (brochures, leaflets, panels, rollups, etc.). Reporting to the Chief Communication Officer (CCO), you will work in close collaboration with all other departments in project mode. You will manage a team of 4 people with editorial skills covering the three languages.

You have a record of accomplishment in defining and implementing communication strategies, in an industrial sector with institutional markets. You have high "native" editorial skills in French and English, and if possible a proficient level in German. You are experienced in the management of editorial teams, editorial policies and production of editorial contents and printed materials with external partners (agencies or freelance writers). Together with the strategic aspects of the role, you will undertake hands-on operational activities on a day-to-day basis and will therefore need to demonstrate the relevant technical skills and aptitudes.

The position will be based in Les Mureaux, with travels within France and Germany.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experiences:

• Master's degree in Communications, Political Science, International Relations, Marketing, Journalism or other related field

• 5 to 10 years' experience in communication, editorial policies and editorial roles in industrial companies with major programmes, high technology and innovation dimensions, or in media on technological and industrial subjects.

• Ability to develop attractive storytelling and to grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into effective communication to non-experts, for different internal and external audiences.

• Excellent French and English native-level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, mastering of journalistic skills.

• Good writing skills and proficiency in German would be an asset.

• Experience in successfully managing a multicultural team.

• Very good knowledge and understanding of the different channels and tools of external and internal communication systems. Creativity and open-mindedness to new ways of communicating.

• Understanding of space businesses, institutional markets (B to G or agencies) and B to B markets, as well as complex and politicised stakeholder environments.

• Strong diplomatic and persuasive skills with stakeholder management, collaborative mindset with team membership and leadership attributes in an intercultural and matrix environment

• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly when required.
