About the team and role:

The Billing team at Aircall is currently part of the Accounting team and is responsible for cash collection from our valued customers. The Billing Team Lead leads, monitors, and supervises a group of Billing Specialists per region: training them to maintain accurate financial records and payment procedures. They work closely with customers and Customer Success Managers to create invoices and check for calculation errors on invoices and other billing statements.

This role is a great opportunity to join a global team that is dedicated to always improving processes, training our customer-facing teams, and ensuring our customers can succeed with Aircall! You will report to the Billing Director.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the team and your own portfolio
  • Support and train the team 
  • Delegate tasks to team members
  • Develop and implement a timeline to achieve targets
  • Directly support our customers on their billing questions via email, phone, and chat (tools used: JIRA and Intercom)
  • Train and support our customer-facing team (Sales, Success, Support) on billing best practices
  • Contribute to the implementation and best practice of internal billing procedures
  • Solve billing, customer credit, and payment disputes issues
  • Monitor assigned accounts to identify and resolve outstanding debts
  • Find and contact customers to inquire about their overdue payments
  • Issue invoices, receipts, and credit notes
  • Update the customer database
  • What you'll bring:

  • 4 years or more of experience working with customers on their billing questions and issues
  • 1 year or more experience working as a team lead, supervising 1-3 employees on the team
  • Accounting and bookkeeping skills and experience
  • Excellent communication skills in order to work effectively with our customers (via email/phone)
  • Ability to work with numbers and process financial information
  • Passion for consistently providing world-class customer experiences and the willingness to learn and help
  • Ability to explain technical financial concepts in an easy to understand manner
  • The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Problem solver, critical thinker, and results-driven: you can quickly think on your feet and are comfortable managing several competing tasks and issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and superior time management skills
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm and even-keeled while adapting to a variety of situations
  • Great familiarity with MS Office/Google Suite (in particular Excel) and ERP software, ideally Netsuite
  • Experience using some of our tools like Intercom, JIRA, and Slack, is a plus!
  • Positive energy!
  • Previous tech startup experience is a big plus!
  • The base salary range for this position is within the $65,000 minimum and $70,000 maximum per year range. This is not including bonuses/commission plans, and other benefits.

    The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
