Our take
Voldex is a gaming company focused on building and operating some of the biggest experiences on Roblox. Founded in 2015, the company has grown by acquiring and scaling popular user-generated games, and today reaches over 170M monthly players across its portfolio. Its titles include major hits like Brookhaven and Driving Empire, making it one of the most influential players in the Roblox ecosystem. What makes Voldex stand out is its strategy: rather than creating games from scratch, it buys already-successful titles and turns them into long-term, scalable platforms. It then layers in live operations, brand partnerships, and monetization systems to keep players engaged. In Driving Empire, for example, Voldex has introduced licensed cars and real-world collaborations, effectively turning the game into a social, live-service environment rather than a one-off experience. More recently, Voldex has leaned heavily into partnerships with large-scale in-game events to drive growth. This includes collaborations with brands like NASCAR and LEGO, as well as entertainment tie-ins that bring real-world IP into its games. As it continues to scale, the company is positioning itself less as a traditional game developer and more as a platform operator within Roblox.
You'll be working on
- Brookhaven is the most-visited game in Roblox history, with over 72 billion visits and millions of players exploring its world every day. We’re looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to help shape how players discover, navigate, and interact with everything Brookhaven has to offer
- As our first dedicated UX/UI designer, you’ll play a key role in elevating the player experience—from simplifying complex menus and improving player flows to creating intuitive, mobile-first interfaces
- You’ll work closely with our product, game design, art, and engineering teams to turn complex systems into seamless, engaging experiences while helping establish the UX/UI foundations for Brookhaven’s future
- This opportunity will begin as a 6-month contract, with the potential to extend or transition into a full-time role
- Own Brookhaven’s UI and UX end to end, from a player’s first session to their hundredth
- Audit the current UI and map the core player journeys, documenting where players get lost, drop off, or need help
- Combine player data, community feedback, competitive research, and playtesting to identify the UX problems worth solving, and prioritize them with the Product Lead
- Define Brookhaven’s information hierarchy and player flows, deciding what matters most to players and where it lives
- Produce wireframes, annotated flows, and prototypes that art and engineering can build from with confidence
- Design high-fidelity screens and reusable UI components with clear rules for layout, hierarchy, and states, partnering with art on final visual style
- Partner with engineering through implementation so what ships matches the design intent
- Measure the impact of UX changes after launch with analytics, and iterate based on the results
- Establish UI and UX standards and documentation so new features ship consistent by default
- Tech Stack:
- Figma
- Roblox Studio
- Luau
- Snowflake/dbt/Tableau
- We offer licences for Claude Code, Codex, and ChatGPT
Benefits
- Be an Owner: Participate in Voldex’s stock option program

- Invest in yourself: Benefit from our retirement savings plans and education reimbursement program
- In-person meet-ups: Participate in conferences and team-building events to get to know your colleagues
- Healthcare: Use our competitive healthcare plans from local providers and our generous parental leave policy
We're looking for
- If you’re passionate about creating intuitive, player-first experiences, love solving complex design challenges, and want to see your work make an impact on millions of players, we’d love to hear from you!
- Shipped mobile-first work, with a strong grasp of tap targets, thumb reach, small screens, and touch interaction
- Strong information architecture skills, with experience organizing complex products into clear, navigable structures
- Experience using player data, research, and community feedback to inform design decisions
- A portfolio that shows both process (research, player flows, information architecture, wireframes) and polished, high-fidelity UI
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across product, game design, art, and engineering
- Ability to work collaborative hours aligned to EST and PST time zones, with a preference for PST
- 3+ years of experience as a UI/UX or product designer, owning both UX and UI on shipped work in games or consumer mobile apps
- Strong visual design skills (layout, hierarchy, typography, iconography) and a clear point of view on UI components
- Experience redesigning or untangling an existing, inherited UI on a live product without stopping the team from shipping
- Experience in games, particularly live service or mobile free-to-play
- Prototyping beyond Figma (e.g. ProtoPie or in-engine)
- Hands-on user research experience, such as playtests, usability testing, or surveys
- Experience designing for young audiences
- Experience building or maintaining a design system or component library
- Experience designing UI for Roblox experiences, or familiarity with Roblox-native UI conventions
- Hands-on experience with Roblox Studio
- Passion for roleplay and social games
