The position

Job description

We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer Intern to support the development, integration, and testing of our next-generation terahertz inspection systems. You will work on a combination of mechanical design, electronics integration, automation, and system validation in a fast-paced deep-tech environment.

This internship is a strong opportunity to gain hands-on experience on real industrial products combining precision mechanics, sensors, electronics, embedded systems, and machine integration.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and integration of mechatronic subsystems for industrial inspection machines

  • Support assembly, testing, and validation of prototypes and pre-industrial systems

  • Participate in the integration of sensors, actuators, motors, motion systems, and control elements

  • Assist in improving system reliability, robustness, and ease of deployment

  • Help define and execute test plans for performance, repeatability, and durability

  • Work on mechanical improvements for precision alignment, thermal stability, and maintainability

  • Collaborate with electronics, software, optics, and application teams

  • Document designs, test results, and technical recommendations


Preferred experience

  • Engineering student, Master’s student, or equivalent in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • Strong interest in multidisciplinary systems combining mechanics, electronics, and automation

  • Comfortable working hands-on in a lab or prototype environment

  • Knowledge of some of the following is a plus:

    • CAD design

    • Sensors and actuators

    • Motion control

    • Embedded systems

    • Test and measurement equipment

    • Python, C/C++, or MATLAB

    • Industrial automation or machine integration

  • Curious, rigorous, autonomous, and proactive

  • Good communication skills in English; French is a plus
